Totally happy with how well these cut out ambient room reflected sound.
Melodyguy 22.03.2022
I randomly placed these tiles on my workroom walls and the odd one on the ceiling. I affixed them with credit card sized areas of PVA glue, letting it dry slightly before pressing on. They are well and truly fixed on to the surface now. I am confident they can be easily removed because of the ease of PVA, should my wife request a full studio relocation - oh not yet please!!! : 0
The mike has been picking up a much less colured recording than before I had these foam panels in use. And some foam wedges too; perfect for my radio show. There are heavier gauge products for band rooms and bigger mixing rooms than I need, but these are absolutely perfect for a home voice over studio. I'll have to find a different room with plenty of sound reflection for singing now!! Of course I can put those post FXs to good use for that. I was impressed at how many fit in a reasonably sized and lightweight package; Thank you Thomann.

Two boards - different color
_obra_ 04.10.2021
I needed exactly the surface of two of those boards for part of my wall, and I wanted to put the boards one next to another.
Unfortunately, on the first look it seems to be the same, but once on the wall and under the light, You can clearly see the difference in the foam color shade.

I also tried to rotate it every possible way, but the difference is always there.

It looks really ugly, but what can I do now? Just to rip it off the wall and buy one board with bigger dimensions...shame.

Works well but be prepared to experiment with different thicknesses
Mark Em 28.10.2022
I got some of this 25mm foam and also some of the Adam Hall 30mm foam to tame the resonances in my small listening room. They both work but are quite different in the frequencies they reduce. This 25mm is noticeably better at reducing unwanted very high frequencies (the ones that make you wince), whereas the 30mm foam seems to work lower down the frequency range. It may not be entirely due to the thickness because they're clearly different materials - the Adam Hall feels more rubbery. After playing around for weeks swapping bits in and out I've ended up using a combination of both together (including some double thickness) plus a bunch of rockwool and a dedicated bass trap. In the end it's trial and error to get the treatment just right but it's really worth it. I have a high end Naim system and I've found that the room makes more difference to the sound than the equipment does.

It does the job!
Anonymous 29.02.2016
For the price it is an excellent product. I use it in my home studio and I am happy for the result. It doesn't help if you're playing too loud but I didn't expect that. If you want a better result and you are able to pay I suggest the 40 mm. I suppose that is 10 times better because I bought also some of it from a local store but not much because it was too expensive. but if you have a low budget like me this is the perfect solution. For high frequencies it Is exceptional. If you are going to do a better job I suggest you add some bass traps. And finally, there is a number of ways to attach them to the walls or ceiling. That optional glue is a good solution but if you want to attach them temporary you can stick them with some velcro, an idea that I came up with! It is relatively cheap and you can buy it from a local store or online. Also if you go with velcro find an original because you will have troubles with the cheap copies.

Summary :
*perfect for small rooms
* works better with high frequencies than low
*best choice for the price undoubtedly!

A must for every practice room
Michal3806 12.09.2015
Old carpets, curtains, even paper egg containers... All that finds its way into rehearsal rooms in a usually vain attempt to improve the room's acoustic and keep the loudness at a reasonable level by damping reflections.

Mind, this particular foam is not professional studio-grade thick, altghough it would certainly help in a small bedroom studio.

But it's cheap and effective to improve any band's rehearsal room which is why I bought several pieces. And it does the job - sound improved immediatelly, it's clearer, more refined and more detailed. Suddenly, people are not trying to overcompensate for not hearing themselves by turning the volume knob to 11.

A word of advice - if you don't have a long-term rehearsing place, you may want to avoid glueing the foam directly to a wall. Instead, use wooden frames or wires to hang them on the wall. This way you'll be able to take them with you anywhere.

In any case, experiement with the placement - every room is different. Also, you don't want to cover the entire surface of all walls and ceiling - some reflections are good for you.

Nice look, functional
JCBurnett 22.10.2017
I use these in my home studio along with other types of elements to treat the rooms. There's not too much to say about this product, it makes your studio look more professional and it really helps to improve the sound. Don't even think of putting egg cartons or similar nonsense stuff onto your walls those won't work and look amateur.

For the price this is excellent especially if strategically combined with other materials. Sound wise as well as aesthetically good results.
I will buy more of this product in the future. Recommended.

Very useful
kalfuso 12.04.2022
Not only good for sound dampening, but also a good choice for guitar maintenance. Stops pieces from rolling off the workbench, prevents scratches, provides grip and can be used as an alternative inlay for drawers.

Good acoustic treatment
Erkan D. 10.11.2013
These foam pads are good for many things. First off, they absorb sound decently for their price. Second, they can be used under things that vibrate a lot and transmit sound through the floor (I use them under my electronic drumkit to avoid sound going down to my neighbour downstairs). And last, they can be used as packing material as well when you need to move sensitive gear. Good price, good bang for the buck.

Affordable but not effective
Robert Peterson 02.08.2021
This absorber does an "ok" job of reducing reflections, but it's not thick enough to reduce the reflections as much as I'd like. If you're going to buy sound reflection absorbers, get something that is thicker than 50 mm.

It serves its purpose!
Anonymous 07.07.2015
I purchased mutiple sheets of this foam to treat the sound of my home rehearsal room and as an experiment to see how much of an impact it would have on the sound itself. I was pleasantly surprised to discover that it certainly does make a difference, especially in a large open space with a lot of reflective surfaces. In terms of a home studio, you would probably invest a little bit more money in thicker foam, and bass traps etc. but if you are solely looking for a method of treating sound in a rehearsal space go for this as a cost effective alternative.
The foam being relatively thin makes it easy to cut with a Stanley knife. The best method of sticking the sheets to the wall is by using an adhesive spray that is readily available in most shops!
