Best Drum mic kit for the money!

I've had this mic kit for nearly 5 years, and everything is working as it should (I should say though that 3/4 of the rim clips have broken now). The quality you are getting for a sub £100 microphone kit is crazy!

Kick drum mic - Depending where it is placed this microphone can either be full of tone and sub or have a real tight punch with a nice present bass to it.

snare/tom mics - These microphones are lovely on toms, they pick up a nice deep tone with a punchy attack. On snare these microphones are lacking, they don't produce the right attack for a nice snare drum sound.

Overhead mics - now these are the gems of this pack, I've been tempted to buy another pack just for these two microphones, they work on every aspect on the drum kit - Overheads, Snare, Hi-hat, Room Mic etc - But I have also had great success applying these microphones for vocals! they have a very full sound with a crisp high end that is just pleasing to the ears!

I would highly recommend this microphone pack but would advise getting a different snare microphone to go with it.

a work horse

used these mics for a variety of things over the past couple of years. not once have they let me down!

I've mic'ed drums, guitar cabs, bass cabs, cajons, used them for vocals once and even a sax.

every time, no issues.

the build quality is robust and the clips are pretty chunky.

for the price, you'd be silly not to pick up a case to have handy. like mentioned before they can mic much more than just drums.

Really Surprised

I was pleasantly surprised at how good these mics are!

Great clarity and solid feel to them.

I've only used them for gigging so far but no complaints.

Clips seem like they could snap under pressure though.

every part of this kit is amazing its just the drum clips that may need a change the clip as they are rubber and very occasionally fall off

For the money - really nice mic set

I use it for my small home studio and it gives me nice sound. They don't have much bleed. You can get really decent sound from these boys. I use another mic for bass drum and BD bass mic from this set I put on my 16'' floor tom, and it's awesome for that job.

Clips are, as you could already read from other reviews - not that great. They do the job and you CAN mount them on triple flanged hoops, although it is a bit flimsy grip, but still doable for home use, not that much for live gigs, as I would use mic stands for that purpose.

All in all, it's a nice grab I would say. For this price - my God it's a steal.

This...product...is....fckin amazing!!!!
I've ordered with a Tascam US16x08, for the first time i'd like to check the condenser mics.... damn.... the best parts of this set are these.... the box looks so massive, for this price this is the best choice!
