Looks great and it's a bargain.
Halley 18.06.2018
This mic has distinct look, and stands out from the box standard cones. It's quite heavy, so it won't break easily. Beside the look, it sounds great as most other mics from the t.bone family (we currently use the MB85 beta, DC1500(drum kit) with pencil mics(EM700) and MB75(which I prefer a lot more than the SM57 on snare and guitar mic). They all have been gigged a lot, and still sound as good as new.

As with any other mic, you will apply some EQ to suit your voice better, so the t.bone sound as good as a much more expensive Shure on live applications.
If you are recording, you should be using condenser, so I'm not mentioning studio application.

Con: As the only way to attach to the stand is by screwing(just like the shure) you can't get it out as you please. If you like to walk around with the mic, just know that you can't put it on the stand, or you have 2 mics (or a wireless one)

Great value for the money
Mikael I. 13.01.2014
I bought two of these, one for me and one for my bands bassist. We play rockabilly (and some punk rock) and the design is spot on for that style. Our singer use a similar (nearly identical) microphone of a different brand but I'd say it is nearly impossible to tell that apart from this based only on the sound. Neither me or my bassist have had any quality problems and we have played probably about 30-50 gigs with these microphones, packing and unpacking between gigs. My recommendation is that unless you really want to buy a more pricey microphone, for whatever reason, this is a great choice.

10 years old and still going strong!
singsvintage 23.05.2018
I bought my t.bone GM 55 in April 2008 and have gigged with it hundreds of times since then. It's still going strong! I bought it because I wanted a vintage style mic, but couldn't afford a Shure S55. It's well built, looks the part and sounds good.

It may be a third of the Shure's price, but it certainly isn't a third of the microphone. In a direct comparison you'd hear the difference, but in a noisy gig environment you'd be hard pressed to really notice.

Not just for fun!
Anonymous 24.10.2014
I bought this for a school musical. You guest it right, somebody was playing the part of Elvis. You can't do Elvis without the Elvis-microphone. This was cheap and it looked the part. Everybody was wearing headsets anyway so the sound of this cheap gimmick didn't matter. But it sounds really good! Now it's used on a regular basis in the school music room. I like it a lot. Only complaint is that the on/off switch seems a little flimsy, but it have not fail me yet and might never do so. Comes in a nice little plastic case plenty strong for normal abuse!

ME
Great piece of nostalgia and not a bad mic to boot.
Malcolm Emmanuel 31.10.2015
I didn't expect great things from this mic and bought it as a cheap alternative to an AKG condenser which I normally use for home recording. That said, I was pleasantly surprised by the t.bone. The aesthetics are retro and it looks as good as depicted in the photos. The build quality is surprisingly good, with a heavy, solid feel to it and no signs of corner-cutting in its fabrication. The sound quality was better than I expected and it holds its own against other dynamic mics with similar ranges although I do use it through a tube mic preamp which does make a difference. That said, I've also had it directly plugged to a mic channel on an acoustic guitar amp and it did the job one-man gigs (although a little "poppy"). This mic is only really advisable for use with straight mic stands rather than with boom stands which mean having to twist the head. For anyone looking for a retro looking, cheap and cheerful mic with no professional recording intentions, you could do a lot worse than this.

Excellent!!!
Bisley 04.01.2015
I have no words to described how surprised i was when i received this microphone from Thomann brand. I confess that i underestimated it! I was very surprised with the quality and the design! I love the style and it is heavy. Built like a tank! But more than that: the quality of the sound is amazing! I just could not believe how cheap it was for the price! And comparing to the other brands this is equal in quality but the good part of it is that the price is better than half price! Another feature that I would like to highlight is that this microphone comes with a very good hard case. Once again I am very surprised and satisfied with Thomann Brand products!

Good sound, prone to feedback
LMXB 05.04.2021
Good sound quality.
Very sensitive so expect more feedback than with directional mics.
Prone to falling because of weight and shape - and broke with first fall needing repair, so don't expect a battle ready mic.
