Please make a new one that works

It isn't sturdy enough to grip a guitar body, clamps should be much more rigid than this. The tiny litte screw to adjust the length falls out all the time, and is difficult to find again.

The 'rubber' (which looks more like plastic) is smooth and curved, probably the opposite of a good design for something that relies on friction... minimal surface area. Also it fell off soon after I opened the box, so I had to glue it back on.

It is very probable that you will knock it off the clamp and the mic will break, I recommend generous application of duct tape.

If Thomann made a metal version that was reliable I would pay £20-30 for it, because the mic is still worth having.

Very bad design
Anonymous 02.10.2014
Had numerous problems with the tightening screw on both this and the violin clip. This design/concept just does not work. It will last you for a couple of gigs and then become totally useless. Recommend avoiding and coming up with an alternative fixing method for the great-value CC 100 mic. Even a lump of stage tape would be better.

Weak screw and insufficient grip
Anonymous 16.02.2017
I totally agree with the other reviews. Microphone works absolutely great, got TONS of volume and plenty of body for both live and studio use....

BUT

the clip has me ON EDGE continuously...the rubber does not grip properly so it has a tendency to slip out of place and fall. The screw is so weak and so small that the thread became completely worn out after a couple of uses.

It's a real pity and believe me, I WILL most definitely buy one more microphone because you get so much bang for your buck, you can't go wrong with it! But the clip is a little bit of a let down

Not solid

Is is not possible to fix the guitar clip properly, when you touch it by accident it falls off.
The screw is not durable and the screw-thread was worn out after 1 time usage and it turns loose. As alternative I use a suction disc/cup to fix the microphone

Pretty much useless
Frus 04.07.2023
So the mount wouldn't stay on te guitar to begin with and during the first gig it lost a rubber pad that goes against the guitar body and also the nut which you fasten the bolt to hold the entire clamp in place.
Good idea but terrible execution.

The clamp is useless, the mic is fair
Slackfire - Italy 17.02.2018
The mic quality is fair for the price. The clamp si absolutely useless since it is impossible to have it properly secured to the body of the guitar (tried on a classical and on a mini jumbo.)

In church on a acoustic guitar

Like the violin clip the screws are just not strong enough. I print my own on our 3D printer. Much better.
