The Thomann rackmount antenna panel allows you to extend the rear ports from a rackmount wireless receiver (such as the Line 6 G90), or from a personal monitor system, in order to move them clear of the case itself. Many wireless units are not the full depth of the rack, so rear mounting antennas is not possible without being able to extend the ports from the units to a rear panel on the rack case. The Thomann unit is the perfect solution. With 4 BNC connectors on the panel and the included high quality BNC patch leads, extending both the antenna in and out sockets from a wireless until is simple and logical. Furthermore, this also reduces wear and tear on the unit's own sockets, allowing the Thomann unit to take the daily strain, whilst making your rack easily adaptable in gig situations, (such as allowing you to quickly connect to house antenna systems, i.e. in theatres). In addition to making connectors more accessible, the unit also allows using both front and rear antennas on a unit, allowing better antenna diversity switching and reducing a rack case's own tendancy to act as a Faraday cage.
The unit is smart and well made. It is shipped with all the necessary leads, and the sockets can be replaced, in the unlikely event that they should ever be damaged. In use, I use them for a 4 antenna setup. Reception is greatly improved. Since installing the unit I have eliminated all dropouts by now allowing my receiver to switch to the best pair of antennas at any one time, with the unit switching from front to rear antennas, or sometimes using one of each, depending on my stage position.
The unit works well with both quarter and half wave antennas.
Overall a sturdy, smart and welcome upgrade to my rack wireless solution.
