Did not fit my f style mandolin properly

I bought this case for my Harley Benton f style mandolin. I couldn't close the case initially unless I forced it which seems like a bad idea. I had to crush down the padding, and could here the interior splintering when i did so, so that I could close it. Even then the mandolin is unbalanced with all the weight on the neck and the body only touching the case at the very bottom. Otherwise case seems sturdy!
