Fragile

The adapter is not solid enough, one came apart after a slight hit of a foot agaist a pedal it was connected to in the pedalboard. Also the distance between 2 jacks (in hight) is not enough for connecting pedals one with a low and the other with high-situated input jack.
On the inside the jacks are connected with 2 thin unshielded wires.
The adapter though does the job and has a smaller footprint than some of the analogs, which is important on a condensed pedalboard. However the best use is the pedalboard with pedals fixed in their places and not pedals simply lying on the floor, as the adapter is quite fragile and may not live through the gig if the pedals get much abuse.

Requires some thought and experimenting
Anonymous 24.11.2014
While I like the idea of minimizing the area between your pedals, this adapter tends to create a zig-zag pattern out of your pedals since the connectors aren't aligned which bothered me.

If one pedal is thicker than another you can easily just rotate the adapter, but on some pedals, that still won't do it and you end up with a little wabble (which can be easily solved by padding the wabbly pedal).

Still, it turned out to be too much of a hassle for me since I tend to switch out pedals quite frequently and I just didn't want to bother with it.

Might come in handy some day.

If all of your pedals are the same make or dimensions and you don't mind the zig-zag, this is great

Its a good idea but not executed well enough
The O 21.11.2013
Ideally you would want a short length in leads as the signal has less length to travel from your guitar to your amp, which is why i bought these. I also bought the straight version of this make but unfortunately if you have 2 pedals of the slightest difference in input fixing or height then the link proves a problem.
Anyway, these would provide the solution to the problem as you can toggle the height of each input while not having to think about damaging the input. Unfortunately this product isnt very sturdy and youll often find that the metal casing that holds both ends together will come off when you want to re-arrange pedals, this leaves the wires open and in the worst case completely destroys the lead.

A good idea but unfortunately it needs to be sturdier.

I ordered 3 and after a week, one adapter jack got off. I could plug it back in and it works, but certainly not suitable for gigs

Think carefully before buying
Daniel S. 289 26.09.2013
These are a great idea perfect for saving space on a pedal board however they do not take into account that different pedals have their inputs at different heights or different positions.
You will also need a good secure pedal board to use the sssnake adaptors; especially when using something like Wah or a Volume pedal as when you put your weight onto the pedal these things pop open and the result is usually a loud cracking sound which is not what you need during a gig.
So like I said, think carefully and plan your pedal board before buying these. They are perfect for stomp boxes however they will still need to be securely fixed to the pedal board itself.

One major flaw
Algirdas 21.05.2013
At first sight, it appears to be pretty decently made but upon closer inspection, I noticed that the two pieces aren't joint very tidily in the middle. It has gold plated tips that should, in theory, be less susceptible to oxidation than nickel. The only problem is that you can't use this to connect pedals that have jacks not parallel to the floor. If that was the case, the adapter would put a lot of unnecessary strain on the jacks and might damage the circuit boards that they're soldered to. Patch cables don't transfer stress like these metal adapters do. Sure, they don't take up as much space but that's the only advantage they have.

Doesn't like to be moved

These things look like a good idea, but they're weak and can come apart easily (blame the velcro). Not as good as a short patch lead.
Also, after they come apart and you see the bits of wire and solder inside, your tone gets affected. ;)

Unless your pedal board is rigid, avoid.
Edward S. 01.06.2015
These are best used where your pedals are stuck down with velcro etc and you want to save space. I bought two and I've broken one already, as they're a bit fragile (you wouldn't think it from the photo, would you?)
Once they're broken, it's a fiddly job with a soldering iron to repair and probably not worth the hassle - I'll just stick with a good old-fashioned patch lead in future. You know where you stand with them.

Works and less cables
Anonymous 01.12.2014
Works and less cables now that is a good thing. The displacement of the two input jacks allows a little but sufficient room for connecting similar pedals together. Even same size pedals from same manufacturer might have input and output sockets little higher/lower/positioned. I found the centerpiece should be like 3mm wider, because some boss type 9v power connectors do not fit between the pedals perfectly (they might be a bit too big and connection seems 1-2mm loose).
If chaining like 5 pedals together.. the pedals are probably not in nice straight row, but some is up other is more down because of adapter shape and input/output placement varies. It you are using velcro to stick pedals, then these pedals are a bit harder to put and take off, because they "stick together" in a row.

Didn't work well for me
Atomic Pete 21.07.2015
I bought these to save space on my pedal board. I quickly reverted back to patch cables. I just didn't find it worked well with the pedals being velcroed in place. It made it difficult to take individual pedals in and out of the board. May work for others, but did not suit me.
