Can damage your bass drum hoop
Christo C 02.10.2014
This cowbell holder is really handy and I use it for both a cowbell and a Latin block, I have a second one the I also use on a washboard! The problem is because the thread is at an angle to the surface of the hoop there is no way for it to be tight enough to stay put without digging IN to the hoop, or staying slightly looser so you have some movement, but that can cause scratches. I have a sh*tty old hoop that I can use but if you're looking for something to put on your "life partner" kit look elsewhere. It will damage it.

I suggest using a dedicated boom arm kitted out for holding those percussion bits and have it dropped over you bass drum.

Get what you pay for

This will mount a cowbell to your bass drum rim, but it'll bite the hoop and a bit of plastic or rubber is required to prevent this, but then that prevents it from being tightened down too much. It doesn't really have the angle adjustment either to do much else with it either. I'd prefer a more multifunctional solution, but then is was like 2euro so what did I expect? It has a purpose and it does it.

Good! BUT...
Anonymous 03.04.2017
It doesn't fit all cowbells nicely as the 'arm' is bigger than I thought it would be. It didn't fit on my Pearl cowbell, and it moves quite a lot when on my bass drum. But for the price I paid, I didn't expect much more. Just make sure it's the right one for your cowbell/percussion and you'll be fine.

Too thick for some LP cowbells
Animale 13.08.2020
I think this is also a licensed model, because you can see other manufacturers having this with almost no difference.

I only use this on hired drums, not on privately owned drums. They will scratch your rim after multiple use, You'll need to put something protective in between if you don't want scratches.

But I also found out with it’s 10,6 mm diameter, unfortunately you won’t get a worthy cowbell like a LP 322 on it. Even a 10 mm won’t fit.
You’ll have to get the LP rods, or the 9,3 mm Tama (or Meinl) rods for that, and that means a different BD clamp that supports these rods.

So if you really want something that will universally fit all percussive items with a rod clamp hole, this is not the one to have.
And it loses 2 stars for that because you know, when you make a cowbell holder and you forget to make it suitable for LP cowbell……that’s pretty lame.

Too large
GoncaloSilva 18.09.2020
Bought it without looking up the diameter and it turns out it's too large for my cowbell. The Thomman PB1 power block has too small an entry for this thing too. Seems like it holds up well but do some research and measurements before you buy it.

Hält aber viel mehr auch nicht.
H.Breiten 17.10.2024
Ich benutze es seit einiger Zeit um eine 8½" Kuhglocke an meiner base drum zu befestigen. Jedoch hat die Glocke kein richtigen Halt an der Halterung. Dies kann aber auch an der Befestigungs Art der Glocke liegen

Basic, functional job done
DRK700 26.10.2020
I needed this to fix a cowbell to the bass drum. It works fine however comparted to slightly more expensive units it lacks the rubber strip that helps to reduce vibration and give firmer hold. Just cut a piece of tire tube and fold it to your desired thickness to achieve same effect.

All in all, a fine, normal basic piece of kit.

DV
great tool
Darko V. 26.01.2016
Very simple holder, with nice quality. I mounted my cowbell on bass drum and it suits there nice. I have two of these, and use the second one for variety of percussions. It doesn't wiggle, or move, and the price is great for the purpose.

With little modification it's great
Vincent666 19.07.2022
this holder is great, price is outstanding, does what it stands for but the only con is the metal plate that sticks to the bass drum hoop, if you don't put some soft gum or something similar it will damage your hoop. But that is a easy fix, cut two pieces of foam, gum, stick them with super glue or something and done!

Exactly what you pay for
HolyDiver 23.07.2019
It's cheap and it does the job, perfect if you just want to experiment with a cowbell.
It mounts on the bass hoop but it lacks some kind of protection on the metal parts so it can damage the hoop but it's an easy fix(I used hot glue). It wobbles a lot,but again hot glue to the rescue.
