1st digital piano ever
inSPYRatiOnS 21.12.2020
i was sure it'll be out of stock soon. lucky i order it before ends and in less than 10 days i have it in my door(Athens)
definitely it'll be one of the best sellers!!
as for the delivery ,maybe box it should be with more foam,to protect it better, was little anxious till the time i open it and see that's everything ok and nothing broken
i'm not the most expert to talk about instruments but i'm good on search, compare & read reviews
it has so many features that it's difficult to find all these in one digital piano, especially at this price
as for the communication-contact with Greek support nothing less than a huge bravo!! they exceeded my expectations
2 drawbacks after 3 days of use:
1st) the hamming-bumping noise it comes from speakers when u fully press the sustain pedal and the irritating noise that it comes from the coil of the pedal(don't know if i can put something like W-40 to stop it,it's really annoying!!)or i have to replace it
overall it's a sustain pedal(if works right) beyond the competition with other pedals of this price range that included with other digital pianos
2nd)but maybe not so important, and not sure if it's a problem or maybe i only have this..., i can't connect bt "Samsung A71" at any way,i try almost everything and several times. i connect the older phone(Meizu) with no problem at all,it's really fun to control keys-sounds etc from the app
didn't try it yet with another phone or tablet and just hope that Samsung didn't pair it for some reason...
overall i think it's VFM this digital piano, especially if u know to play :)
only time will tell the durability of this nice product!!

C
Great sound, excellent build quality!
Carsten3 07.12.2020
I already have a great 88 midi controller (Doepfer LMK2) in my studio, but I wanted something that I could simply switch on and practice on. First I was looking at Yamaha or Roland which are in a slightly higher price category. While the Roland FP10 and Yamaha P45 do sound a tad nicer in the demos to my ears (compare to the sound of the DP-28 on Youtube in a couple of reviews, as there aren't any demos on the product page at the time of writing), the DP-28 sounds very, very decent and inspiring. I don't think the difference in sound quality is big at all.

Very easy to use, sounds are great. Of course the keyboard isn't as great as the LMK2 which costs 4 times as much, but still it feels very nice! On top of all that the design looks great, very professional looking. Highly recommended if you're looking for a great piano on a budget!

J
Great value for a budget keyboard!
JennyL 03.09.2022
My keyboard was well packed and arrived safely across the water to England. Very pleased with it so far. I wanted a weighted hammer action keyboard with dedicated line out, which meant Alesis, Donner or Thomann, and I am glad I chose Thomann.

For me, the plus points are:
- Fully weighted keys, with hammer action. It feels good & responsive to play. It is not graded action, but I do not notice this. The keys do not 'bounce', so fast repeated play is possible.
- Touch response is smooth and has a great range, just like an acoustic piano.
- Reasonable choice of voices, including 4 grand pianos.
- Layering 2 voices is easy, and the octave/volume of the 2nd voice can be changed.
- Tone control knob makes it easy to change the brightness of the sound.
- 20W speakers are insanely loud!! They do not seem to distort even at top volume.
- Hammer sound mentioned by other reviewers is not noticeable. Keyboard shortcut C#2 should turn it off anyway, though I do not notice any difference.
- Foot pedal squeak mentioned by some reviewers can be turned off using the keyboard shortcut A#1 ("damper noise").
- Bluetooth should enable control by a smart device (see below!).
- Metal music stand is sturdy.

Minus points:
- Unnecessary number of complex settings - string res, damper res/noise, hammer noise, lid up/down, temperament, etc.
- Too many of these settings are 'on' by default when the keyboard is turned on. Things like hammer/damper noise might be better 'off' by default.
- There is no way of saving the settings you choose - they all revert to default when the keyboard is turned off. It is a real shame that 3-4 setting memories are not provided, even though there is a recording facility for playing music.
- The bass is a bit lacking, but this may be the speakers? I have not yet tried the keyboard with an external speaker.
- The metal music stand has angled legs, which means it will not slip into the carry bag pocket (I got a Thomann keyboard bag 6). If put in the bag with the keyboard, it could damage the keyboard.
- The power cord is only 1.5m in length - rather short.
- I cannot find an Android app to use with the Bluetooth, which is a big disappointment. It seems PianoToolBox has been taken off Google Play.

For the budget I was given, though, this is by far the best keyboard I could have bought, I am sure. I enjoy playing it.

Y
Not a bad tool for the money)
Yuliya 15.12.2021
In principle, I am happy with the tool. On the pros: amazing functionality (not a lot / not a little); good, surround sound. sustain pedal in the kit. Among the disadvantages: mechanical sound from pressing keys. In general, I advise you, buy and you will not regret it).

RD
Beautifully designed electric piano
Ruby Doan 26.02.2022
Love the modern-yet-simple-looking design of the piano. The button numbers are reduced which helps the piano look more elegant. Love the lights that run through the buttons when the piano is started as well. The only problem with this piano is the plastic sound created when the key bounce up. It makes such obvious noise and affects the experience when playing the piano.

Meilleur choix dans ce budget
vheylen 05.02.2024
Pour moins de 400 euros, c'est juste parfait, tout à fait comparable à des claviers de marques connues (yamaha, roland...) vendu au double du prix.
Avec un bon casque audio, c'est l'instrument parfait pour répéter la nuit :-)

Fantastic beginner's keyboard
pipe01 28.04.2022
The sound is great, even on the other non-piano modes. My only gripe with it is that isn't not able to connect to my phone through Bluetooth, even after trying with other phone models.

D
Good piano with heavy keys.
Diburn 16.09.2024
I bought a Thomann DP-28Plus and played it for about 6 months. The price was good compared to the Roland FP30X or Yamaha P-125. I chose to buy the Thomann over the branded keyboards.

In general, the sound quality was decent, though a bit softer than I had anticipated. The piano comes with many features like split keyboards and other advanced functions, but I haven’t found the need to use most of them. Overall it was a rewarding and enjoyable experience, but there were a few downsides.

My sustain pedal would sometimes scrape the body and make some noise, which was unpleasant. To avoid this effect, I had to adjust the pedal position to avoid the noise. Also, the keys themselves felt quite heavy, especially compared to the Yamaha Arius, which I found more comfortable to play.
