i am brand new to gong bashing. i have bashed drums and cymbals for Blackpool Donkey's (a long time). You have to respect large round metal things and a nice mallet is a good place to start. I would say this one seems worth the money. Nice weight, well padded with fleecy stuff, with a large metal thing you need to launch your shoulder into the arc and be aware of the weight of the metal the mallet, yourself and your audiences ear-drums (you can easily find Rank Organisation demo's) A drummers stick is an interface like a pen to a poet.

If some cruel fate demanded that I keep only one mallet, it would be this one. It is versatile, including bringing forth big deep sounds. Its value for money is staggering.

Sturdy Weighty Mallet for deeper tones
Chestnut 14.04.2019
Used as alternative to lighter mallet used on a 32" Chau Gong. Produces gorgeous deeper tones/colours when used gently ... thunderous when used less gently. Very pleased.

Great Value Gong Mallet
Anonymous 04.03.2016
I was very pleased with the quality of this mallet, it is every bit as good as the Chalkline make, which is considerably more expensive. Great quality for use with a large Gong (mine is a 32inch). I recommend this to anyone who wants quality for less money.

A nice mallet

Good weight and easy to control without too much pressure on the wrists and arms.
