Was looking for a first either bouzouki or octave mandolin and the price was exceptionally attractive, doubly so that they included a gig bag. I continue to be wowed by Thomann's excellent turnaround times and prices; this was my second instrument purchased and will almost certainly not be the last. Four stars on the sound simply for general relativity: it's a budget-priced instrument of excellent value, easily 5 stars for its price point, but in the grand scheme, a solid-top bouzouki would project a little more. It came well-set up and holds its tune excellently! Would easily recommend or buy again

Sounds beautiful.
I don't know if this should be so or not, but the fretboard seems dry.

I've been using this for trad sessions. I'm also a singer, so I kept the octave courses set up for more of a full accompaniment sound. It also responds well to a great range set up for melodies. Brighter tone than my fellow zooker's Fylde, but he has much heavier gauge strings set up.
