This may be a 'fully carved' bass, but be advised it is not a very well carved bass. When I tried to amplify it (using piezo pickups of various makes) it immediately erupted into non-stop uncontrollable high-mid feedback.
I'm guessing the wood was carved by craftsmen and glued together by carpenters.
After several nightmare gigs I took it to a luthier who replaced the soundpost (It had the wrong guage post, in the wrong place!!!) and this helped a little with the feedback, but all-in-all this bass is still a lemon. Do yourself a favour and spend the extra ¤400 on a semi solid Czech bass. Buy one of these things only if you intend learning to play, on your own, quietly in your home. Otherwise avoid!
