The Thomann 33 3/4 Europe Double Bass is an instrument of robust construction fully carved. Simply adjust the easel as, replacing the ropes and have a good and reliable work partner for many years. I took the maximum potential of the instrument from a luthier Gabor Bolba . The sound of this instrument is brilliant, either with bow or pizzicato. It is a very good tool for the job due to his bow Harmonic top head be built in spruce, however is a hybrid instrument due to its round sound of pizzicato, has an excellent attack due to its harmonic bottom head to be right, has also a good sustain. The relationship between quality and price is very good. I am very pleased and highly recommend!

My first double bass

I carefully seeked my first double bass and I decided to take 33 because it is fully carved solid wood. And I was lucky as this shows to be great bass. Has a nice tone and you can feel that the wood is "alive" and not "dead" like plywood basses. I expect this bass to play even better with time. The strings which are on it are classic strings from Thomann and although some black color comes out and stays on the fingers, strings are quite good. All to all, without any upgrades needed, this is a very good instrument especially for the begginer such as I am.

Great for the price

For the price, for being a full solid bass it is great. It needs a bit of a setup, the fingerboard is not the best quality, it needed some fixing, also the bridge needed a bit of a fix for height and curvature, i also changed the strings for spirocore solos, the ones that comes with the bass are quite crappy. But overall I am very happy with it. Now, after a feel months of playing I feel the sound is opening up, and is very nice.
