Sturdy but not so compact!

It's a very sturdy stand. It can withstand many kilograms with no problem.
However, when you need to transport it's not the best one as it is not so compact.
It's not so convenient if you're gigging a lot and have to transport it all the time.
Perfect to have at home!

This is my second orchestral stand, which looked much the same as my one from another manufacturer and retailer.

The Thomman orchestral stand is very solid, and just right for thick music books, digital recorders and iPads along with sheet music.

However, although the upright pole is straight, the head support is not level! The shelf is not at a true 90 degree right angle. This means that when I went to turn a page in one of my music books, the page caught on the shelf and ripped free from the spine! The finish on the shelf is rough and poor, adding to page damage.

I am sure that I just got a 'bad one' so this might not be true for all of them, but quality control should be better.

I am left disappointed.

This is a very well made and cheap stand, however I think I got unlucky with my one. The stand is not attached perfectly at the top. This means it's wonky and music can slide off (though in practice this rarely happens).

Overall I would still recommend this stand as it's strong and sturdy, plus I've seen others that are perfectly made. It's also not that heavy and despite the slight problem I still use this every day.

Very heavy for the size, it's good for stable installment but not very good if you're a gigging musician and you need to close it to take it away since the big metal sheet on top stays like it is... doesn't get smaller. So you better go for another model if space and weight can be an issue.
It doesn't have springs or whatever to keep the sheets on, so if the wind hits you'll end up losing everything (in case you're doing outdoor gigs). Everything makes me think it was made for indoor performance, maybe for orchestra, and to be left where it is.

Does the job right.
The package came a little dented and the stand looks like it a bit "curvy". Not sure if it fell or if the delivering company is to blame.
Despite that, the stand is firm and we've been using it to hold lyrics, smartphones

Great stand, worth the money

I use this stand in my home and outdoors from time to time.

Both indoors and outdoors, this stand feels very sturdy and stable, perfect for any kind of use. It folds up nicely to a convenient size which is easy to carry.

Pros:
Great value for money
Very stable - good feet grip/weighed down
Great build quality

Cons:
Metal where the music sits was very slightly bent, however it was easily fixed by gently bending in the opposite direction (I'm sure thomann would have sent a replacement, however I didn't deem it a big enough problem to do so).


Overall, this product ticks all the boxes if you're looking for a quality music stand.

Also useful as a laptop stand

I have this beside my drum kit, to use as a laptop stand so I can access the computer without having to turn around and stretch to reach it. It is stable enough to put the laptop on without worrying about it falling off. I did notice that one side was slightly misshapen, but it doesn't make a difference, especially if you were to use it for its intended purpose! It is surprisingly sturdy for a product with such a low price.
