Don't show the Smartcart to your Mother
Dr Bassman 05.08.2021
I recently purchased a neat little 3ooW bass cab, but at 40+ kg, some transport seemed appropriate. Hence, I ordered and received my Smartcart, and very nice it is too. It is indeed foldable and flexible; and thus perfect for my needs. In fact, perhaps one else's too - my 84 year young Mother - who is often guilty of moving large items, etc., which are too heavy for her.

Therefore, as she was visiting today, I decided to show her my latest purchase. She loved it; so much so, that she asked if she could have the Smartcart. How could I say no?; and, as she pointed out, I could always order another one, couldn't I? This I will do shortly.

In the meantime, all I can add is that allegedly, or so I am told, the Thomann Smartcart really is excellent for moving heavy plant pots and, it seems, big boxes of groceries and lots of large household objects. It's also easy to store in her utility cupboard.

I use it to transport my Laney 12r.

Body: What I really miss, is the handles to be larger, so I can carry it comfortably. That would increase the overall size of it, but, you would get a nicer carrying experience and your back and arms will be more relaxed. Probably for even taller guys then me (I'm around 183 cm), it will be even harder to carry it around, cause you have to bend a bit your body.

Wheels - they can be larger and softer! I think my amps gets a lot of bad hits and it will break up at one point!

It does the job, but not as it can, once it is approved. Size is super nice and compact, and decent built!

Replacement still going strong.
DrCheese 02.02.2021
One of the plastic fittings on the first one I received was already cracked. It was very poorly protected for transit - just a couple of scraps of brown paper. I wish Thomann would put more into their protective packaging as this seems like a bit of a false economy. Nonetheless, Thomann were extremely helpful and quick at sending a replacement. This is the first time I received a damaged item but I often find item boxes are torn and dented for this reason.
My niece uses the replacement cart for ferrying her musical equipment for busking. With the help of a few bungee cords everything works well and this replacement is holding up well.
It folds down quite small.
The design is mostly metal, it is just the fittings and joints that are hard plastic.
The four-wheel design is probably not necessary for moving the cart around when just the rear wheels will be used mainly.

Very good product
Thonk 15.04.2023
So, I held back reviewing this for a few years. I purchased this in 2020 and so didn't use it much though lockdown. I thought I'd messed up as well however I'm using it every week now and its going well.

I'm a bass player who can't give up proper cabs for lightweight ones (thunder is important). I run a 4x10 & a 1x15 and as a 53 yr. old fat fart who has long since lost his roadie privileges I'm loading in and out myself.

The cart works really well, it can tilt back (which initially I thought it couldn't, hence thinking I'd messed up) and handles my cabs just fine.

Packs away nicely and is sturdy.
