I got this along with some 3kg bowls to try and get a really nice deep, low bowl. Without a 4kg sound clip it was a bit of a punt. As it turned out, the 4kg bowls all resonated higher than the 3kg bowls. They do however have a slightly 'fuller' sound with more of the primary frequency and less pronounced higher overtones.
I was going to keep either a 3 or a 4, but have ended up keeping both.
As always its a bit of a lottery if you are looking for a specific sound.
I cant speak to the heavier bowls but overall I'm very happy with this bowl. If you want more depth, I'd go for a 3kg which is better value as well. The bigger bowls appear to have a better finish than the smaller Thomann bowls.
