Great sound.

I'm playing an Ibanez AS93, mostly jazz, blues and sometimes classic rock. I decided to give these strings a go. I am pleasantly surprised with the sound. Perfect for jazz, but not too mellow as to take all the treble from your guitar, like the D'Addario chromes did, that I used before. These have a nice spank to them but are not spikey. Also, the bottom two strings are a bit lighter and have a bit less tension than .011 strings tend to, so forget about down tuning with these babies, not on a Gibson scale length anyway. Could be nice on a Telecaster, I guess. Strings are nicely packaged and have silk wound endings, which I dig.

Good but a bit expensive

I use flatwounds on both guitar and bass so I have tried most of the commonly available options. These strings have been my preferred choice on my ES175 for maybe 5 years now. I do find them better on hollow guitars... I also use flatwounds on a telecaster but Thomastiks don’t work well in that instrument. Of course, your mileage may vary... Basically, try them and if your guitar intonates well on these strings they will feel and sound great for a very long time before they die tonally. Recommended

EDIT They are the finest quality but I don't like them
Kikodasneves 12.09.2024
Everything about these strings is 5 stars. But since I sweat a lot, these get VERY grippy on my fretting hand's fingers, hindering my agility. For this reason alone I switched to D'addarios because they are much less grippy. KEEP IN MIND these are equivalent to .10 tension by the standards of most other brands. The TI 12 should bring you into .11 Elixir territory, I found these TI 11 ones too light.

Love these strings

I've been a d'addario person for 17 years until I changed to these strings last year. It's great on my semihollow. I love the mellow and clear tones it gives off
