Thon Rack 4U Live 40

This rack case is very well made and almost perfect for my needs, but it loses one star because neither the sales page or the photographs make it clear that there are only rack mounting rails at the front of the case. I would have liked rails at the rear as well, so that I could have put a rack mounted power distribution, patch panels, ventilation etc at the rear...it's not a deal breaker but would've been nice. Apart from that it's a really good piece of kit...

Good case but fittings are poor quality

I have a number of these and all are similarly poor quality
All the fittings have deteriorated to dull, corroded finish. Imagine what happens to aluminium when you leave it outside, this is similar to how my cases have gone
They have not lived outside, but rather a warm room
Wish i hadn't started down the route of buying these

I bought this for my Axe FX 2 XL but probably will upgrade to a shockmount case seeing as the Axe fX so valuable. Peace of mind.

But that is my error not buying the shock case in the first place. Downside of a shock case is extra size.


But this one ideal for rack gear well made and strong. I will use it for other stuff

I bought this for my synth module for live gigs, its really good quality at an amazing price point compared to other products, i dont know why other manufactures charge so much for the same product

I used this case to house the Botex DPX-1210S dimmer and it works like a charm. It is easily closable and transportable, protects the dimmer and makes it that much more rugged.

We use these cases for our power distributors, build quality is great with professional fittings, very sturdy, enough space in the rear for cable storage, useful rubber feet so nothing moves around too much when stacked together.

4 tray replaced a 3 tray for a laptop tray, sound card, radio mike receiver and power supplies. Used for professional puppetry company. Travels and sets up well. It works... The laptop drawer could use a catch or a brake maybe. I love it, I just wish I didn't buy the 3 tray first.

I bought it for my Kemper PowerRack (3U). One extra unit for my 1U wireless.
Like all Thon cases I've ever had or used it does it's job flawlessly.
The metal reinforcements in the corners are great for taking most of the hits and keeping the plywood in a better condition.
