Wow! Just wow!

NOTE: Editied my review for more detail after using the cymbal for a while.

19" and B20, so the undertone is pretty deep but there's lots of bright overtones, and some high, almost whistling, tones that come out when you give the cymbal a decent whack or roll on it. Responds well to different dynamics and works nicely for both accented hits and continuous crashing!

The bell is very clear and defined, so I find it can work for accents in the same way a good ride bell does. The body is also nice to roll on with stick tips for a bit of atmospheric washing sound.

This dish isn't as mellow and warm as my Zultan Rock Beat crash nor is it sweet and radiant like, for example, a Paiste 2002 Classic crash. To my ear, it's a little colder, glassier and more aggressive but without any trashiness like a china, and after some rudimentary recording with my 2nd band (hardcore/thrash metal), it's more than capable of cutting nicely into a big wall of guitar and bass noise without being overpowering. I'd be less inclined to use it recording with my 1st band (more soft rock/psych/shoegaze influenced) as I feel it'd be a little harsh and loud for quieter passages.

Overall I think this is a perfect crash for any loud or heavy style of music. It looks great and in the rehearsal room, the one I received sounds identical to the audio sample. This is the first UFIP I bought, and I'll definitely be buying others! Fantastic price/performance ratio and a great choice for drummers who play hard rock or anything louder!!
