Ultimate MDS-100 Modular Device Stand

Vor einigen Wochen in einem Testbericht bei Amazona gelesen.

( Tage später bei Thomann bestellt.
Paket ging erst an die alte Adresse. Hatte vergessen meine Lieferanschrift zu ändern. Kurze Mail an Thomann und das Paket ging wieder raus. Top-Service, wie immer.

Im Paket drei Teile und vier Schrauben. Ausgepackt. Zusammengebaut. Aufgestellt.
Verarbeitung Top. Chaotische Lage auf dem Studiotisch verbessert.
Zur Zeit steht meine Roland TR-8 auf dem Device Stand. Ergonomisch eine Riesenverbesserung und auch dem Workflow schadet es nicht!
Demnächst wird dann noch der Expander und ein weiterer MDS-100 bestellt. In die zweite Etage kommt dann noch eine Groovebox und ein kleiner Mixer.

Kann den Testern von Amazona an dieser Stelle nur recht geben.

I chose this premium product with higher price.

I really like the design.

But it is not perfect:
- Presonus ATOM pads + Akai MIDIMIX does not fit, had to unscrew the side panel
- I bought two of these including the bridge raiser

In the middle it will deform its shape and therefore nothing will sit straight. And the different is like 0.5cm, co touch knob in the middle moves whole controller. I had to buy foam pads for furniture in Bauhaus/Hornbach and stick around 3 of them under any controller's corner that happens to be in the middle of this "Ultimate Modular Device Stand".

This is just basic guys. This should not happen at this price point. If I cut such stand from cheap MDF wood, it would not happen.

Next, I bought t.akustik ISO-Plate 335 for MPC Studio mk2 or ATOM pad. This ISO-Plate is incompatible with Ultimate Modular Device Stand. There is no space for it, mostly due to ISO-Plate length, and this was the smallest they sell here.

Putting drumpad, or anything, on the second raised unit have issues. This product is plastic, even it is hard and sturdy plastic, still not strong enough even for one plastic controller.

CONSLUSION:
Bunch of compromises does not make it Ultimate solution for Device Stand.
