I've come from an RME HDSP 9632 which I was very pleased with its low latency, general features, and I've used it for over 10 years. However, it was time to upgrade my Audio Interface and I've chosen this one.
Pros - General sound quality feels in somehow superior, but that might be biased for the present monitor positioning. The hardware is practical, the knob feels great and looks great as well. The UAD plugins are something else - really analogue feel!
Cons - A thing I noticed right away was by the time I opened some heavy projects, there was some "chocking" due to the buffer size. When projects got heavier, I pushed my old rme to a buffer size of 4096, however, in the Twin, the limit is set to 2048. Not a major issue, meaning I should make more use of the freeze tool. I also sensed the unit running hot in the first week I got it, (an extremely hot week with my studio reaching 30º Celsius). Luckily I have a small laptop cooler who did is work just fine, cooling the Apollo perfectly.
Conclusion: Get it! All it matters is Music, and this will be an important asset regarding your generals' sound quality. Feels great, sounds great, and the UAD plugins just seal the deal.
