my pair of sticks.
Stefan Goranov 14.06.2018
I have been playing professionally drums for about 20 years already and In the past 8 or so these are the only sticks I play. The maple makes them pretty light although they are quite fat in diameter so they are definitely not as heavy as a hickory stick this size would be. I like the natural sound of the wood on the drums and the cymbals - the maple is way softer than hickory so if you are looking for a stick which is going to last long while playing heavy and loud music - this one is probably not for you cause is gonna break quickly and the tip is very small so soon you are not going to have any tip left. However, for jazz or styles that are played at softer volumes, I find this stick to be the best thing for me since it is big and fits the hand very well, it is light and is very well balanced - it has that classical-snare-drum feel to it. Another thing that maybe not so good for louder styles - it is relatively short so if you have a huge drum set and you are not very tall, this might be a slight problem...

These are good.

Even though I prefer thinner sticks, I really like how these feel. Vic Firth never fails when it comes to quality drumming gear!

The tip gets really small overtime
Quincy jones 01.03.2021
I know maple is a softer wood compared to hickory but the tips of these sticks shrink overtime, the are like a little tiny ball now. Straaaaange.

Great sound
Federico ap 29.05.2019
I use them to play jazz drums mostly, I really love the sound that the tip get to the cymbals, like a very articulated and clear sticking. The only disadvantage is that the tips don't last a lot , because they are small and the stick is quite thick so that happens...

Thick but not heavy pair of sticks that I've found to be near to perfect to almost all the stuff I currently play (country, folk, pop, rock etc.). I can produce a nice fat snare sound (with a rimshot) with SD Boleros while keeping the volume silent enough for smaller venues.

Great for practicing
Anonymous 17.11.2016
Thick, beffy stick, little shorter than average, longer taper, extreme control, ideal for practice and orchestra.
But don't go punding them on a set, cause they're made out of maple.
