Vox Amplug 2 Lead

This little thing has an amazing sound, that you would never expect, provided that you use decent headphones of course! For instant home practice and for traveling/vacation solution its the best in the buisness!
I already own two of its older brothers from version 1, the acoustic and the metal, but this version has gone even further soundwise and featurewise. I didn't expect, to tell you the truth, to be able to go from full bore distorted lead tone with delay (Red channel with delay on second of the three options), to pristine cleans with lush chorus (Green channel with the gain low, second chorus option and the volume of the guitar rolled out).
Ok, its not the most robust machinery the mankind has seen, but look at the price... you wanted to be made from metal at this price point?
No cons from me, just a couple of suggestions. If I could improve it somehow, I would make it to turn/clip vertical to the guitar so I could see the knobs and, more importantly I would add Drum patterns PLUS Looping capability -doubleing the price at the same time of course- making it indispensable! Yes, I already connect my phone with drum apps with the aux connection, but its not the same! If Vox could do that, it would be amazing!

I use this to warm up backstage or to do some late night "silent" rehearsals at home. Sounds quite nice trough custom made in ear monitors, didn't tried them with anything else. Not fizzy as most headphone amps i've tested.
Its really small and lite, and fits the storage space in any guitar case, (along with an iPod and some headphones). Still don't feel comfortable with it plugged directly to the guitar, (i play mostly standing up and i'm afraid to move a lot and do some damage to the guitar jack), i use it with a small patch cable on a strap pouch. Very comfortable.
Still a bit confused with the controls because i can't see the buttons while using it but it sounds amazing considering the size of this gadget. The Lead tone is amazing, but from the fx only the reverb is ok.
Overall amazing tone for such a small piece of gear.
p.s. batteries really last a long time.

To be honest i ordered this on a whim not ejecting much. However I'm blown away by quite how good this is. I live sitting on my sofa of an evening noodling around on my guitar whilst watching tv so i thought is try this lead version and its awesome. I was hoping for a thick lead tone with loads of sustain and delay simmering away. Straightaway after plugging in a grin spread across my face as i began noodling with a tone almost exactly like Steve Vai's For the love of god. The gain goes from mild crunch to searing hot molten sustain. The dreamy delay adds layers of wide harmonic overtones. The phaser is pure van Halen. The chorus is chorusy. The reverb is rich and pleasing. There is a level control for the fx as well as tone gain and volume. Also had an aux in which will be ideal to plug into to play along with. Or i plan to plugin my drummers electric drum kit so we can jam silently.

Genuinely impressed by this little gadget. If you are looking for a splendid vai satriani van halen type lead tone to noodle around to this is the gadget of choice

And it came with batteries so ready to rock right out of that box.
