I found that if I apply a drop of this after (!) each time I play, before putting the horn in the case, I didn't have to oil at all during rehearsals or gigs.

Completely odor-free.

It doesn't seem to evaporate/disappear as quickly as lighter oils, so I imagine this would be perfect for long-term storage of the instrument.

The valves do seem to run a tiny bit faster if I use the Yamaha Light oil, so for new instruments with tight tolerances, you might consider that instead.

Best Valve Oil I've Used
Samh981 14.04.2018
Having spent years trying different brands of valve oil I've settled on this. I've found it does the best job of lubricating for a long period as well as leaving significantly less residue than competitors.

Efficient oil
Gaweseb 29.12.2020
Good quality oil and it does not smell excessively. Only problem is Yamaha telling Thomann that they should not export to our country Namibia after we bought expensive Yamaha trumpets, not right!
