Zildjian A-Series Box Set Sweet Ride

I love these cymbals and have gigged with them a couple times, recorded too, and am very pleased overwall with them considering the price I paid.

All cymbals sounded great out of the box and weren't hard to get a nice sound out of through the mic's (which is less to do with the cymbals, but still)

My only problem is that - around 5 or 6 months I think - the 18" crash i bought with this set developed a large crack. As an experienced drummer I am fully aware that the way i'm playing COULD have caused this, but I'm certain it's just the weakness of that cymbal.

That said, the ride sounds amazing, truly amazing, the bell is a little weak but the crash sound of it stands up to some ofthe better cymbals i've heard in my time.

The 16 inch ride is one of the best crashes i've heard to my taste. Fast decay, but bright attack.

The hi-hats are a little bright to my taste, but then again I usually play 16's.

Overall, a very good sounding set despite some issues, which are in the process of being fixed.

I bought these as my first set of cast cymbals. I decided to go with Zildjian as they always come so highly rated. I really like them, particularly the Sweet Ride and the 16? Crash which cut through any beat without being harsh or obtrusive. The 18? is also good so no complaints there. The hats are OK in my opinion - not as crisp as I would like and they also sound a little heavy for the type of sound I am after but they are of very high quality nonetheless. They may suit you perfectly if you like to play really loud - I don?t! Next time I will definitely be checking out the Zultan Q series as I recently purchased a 10? Zultan splash which was so cheap it?s unreal and the sound is absolutely incredible for the price!

Bought these as my first professional set. Sounded awesome when mic'd right out of the box. The sweet ride and 16" crash can really cut through very well. I occasionally use the 18" crash as a crash ride during smaller gigs. Would have gone for a brilliant finish but I guess that's the only issue I have with these, The new beats hihat's characteristics are debatable but I personally love them as it suits my style of playing. if you're someone who likes a more controlled sound these are not made for you, go check out the K series by Zildjian. This is the best sounding set if you're looking for that fast and heavy sound in my opinion. Nothing can beat Zildjian sonically.
