So Far So Good

I use this bag indoors for location music recording.

It appears to be well made- time will tell. Very rigid with very grippy velcro used throughout. The bag unfastens in every conceivable way to allow you to access compartments or to see the side panels more easily (the protective boots that cover your connections are great but make it hard to see otherwise). Comes with two dividers, one of which doubles up as a "tabletop", and four smaller cable management pieces. The see-through vinyl lid is also a pocket for notes, etc. It is removable and fastens on two sides using velcro (not so good if you're in the rain). Strap is comfortable and generously padded. The front pocket is just big enough for the compact PSU and its Hirose adaptor. The side nets are small and as such will each fit a usb lead, a card or two or headphone adaptors etc.

Pros: rigid, good velcro, comfortable, seemingly well made. Well balanced and (largely) ergonomic in use.

Cons: when using my F4, the flap that allows rear access to the recorder is narrow. This makes the whole bag stronger, however it's not really wide enough to clear any timecode connectors without first loosening off or removing the retaining straps that go through the recorder "handles". Also, if you have a Zoom expander capsule (I have the EXH-6) you cannot comfortably use this with the recorder in the bag. If you're planning on using the bag on your shoulder with timecode you should try the bag out with that connected before you buy.

Overall, I would recommend this bag if the rear flap isn't a problem. It's not cheap but I am glad I bought it rather than getting something non-specific for less.

Budget bag solution
Nuntins 10.01.2022
The bag is suitable for Zoom F8H. Overall, it is a good and budget solution for field recording. It is not well thought out to fix the recorder in one of the sections where the cable outlets are. There is a slip and if the cable outlets are not tight, the device may fall out of the bag. The manufacturer has provided clamps to the bag to limit the movement of the recorder, but placed in this way limits the XLR inputs.

Takes field recording to another level

This really makes using the Zoom F8 so much easier as you can have alternate power sources already wired in the bag along with the wireless receivers (I used 4 of the Rodelink systems) again wired and ready to go and there is plenty of room for the transmitters and USB power banks as well as the lavalier mics and other accessories, my only criticism is the shoulder strap as this is quite awkward to keep the bag in the right place in use, I happened to have a shoulder harness for carrying 2 cameras at waist height and when this was used on the middle strap D rings the whole thing hung nicely balanced in just the right working position and adding a couple of short bungees allowed for fastening external wired mics and headphones on the outside of the bag, making it a true grab and go solution.

If you are shooting reality or any kind of project witch includes a lot of people and long run project, be aware that this bag will handle only that project and that is all. We are shooting reality for 3 months. After that, this bag can god in trash easily because the quality is not super great. But, if you are using this for occasional usage etc. this bag can be good for you. For long run usage and 14h/day shootings, this bag will fall apart for 3-4 months ;) if you shoot something like this, choose better bag.
