Raw visuals, fine sound

Zultan's Raw cymbal series is characterised, as its name suggests, by a raw, earthy look with surfaces that reveal the natural colour of the B20 bronze and deliberately do without a high-gloss polish. The Raw cymbals produce dark, dry sounds that blend perfectly with the music and prove a perfect choice wherever the player wants to obtain a warm and unobtrusive tone from their cymbals. The cymbals are made in Turkey, the country in which the art of cymbal making is most highly developed and where cymbal smiths who have learned their craft from scratch use traditional methods to create high-quality, good-sounding instruments.

Detailed view of the Zultan 15" Raw Hi-Hat cymbal

In tune with the music

Each Zultan Raw Series cymbal is made from 80% copper and 20% tin and is hammered by hand. This makes every cymbal unique, but in the final tonal tuning process, care is taken to ensure that the specified tolerances are met. Not lathing the cymbals results on the one hand in the special look, on the other hand in a controlled sound that is characterised by a slightly reduced treble response and a relatively short sustain. Thanks to these special sound characteristics, there is no risk that the cymbals of the Raw series will dominate the music too much. The medium-heavy 15" hi-hat offers a sensitive response and a defined sound that remains controllable even when playing fully open, and the "chick" sound when pressing down the hi-hat pedal always cuts through with ease.

From unplugged to Electro and back again

Drummers from the genres of Pop, Fusion, Funk, and Jazz need fast responding, dynamic cymbals that blend homogeneously into different settings, and the 15" hi-hat from Zultan's Raw series is perfect for this job. It can be played with sticks, rods, or brushes, and is therefore also suitable for unplugged sessions. Fans of hybrid drumming, in which acoustic and electronic sounds are on an equal footing, often prefer cymbals with dry sound characteristics - which of course are one of the typical features of the Raw series, meaning that the 15" hi-hat will do an excellent job in this area as well.

About Zultan

To provide traditional craftsmanship at a fair price has been the guiding principle of Zultan ever since it was founded in 2000. The firm’s practice of selling directly to the end customer makes it possible to offer very customer-friendly prices. Nevertheless, the production process for Zultan’s trademark cymbals, which are made mainly in Turkey, is of the highest quality, a fact which has ensured they have also been a fixture in the Thomann range since 2011. The nearly 250 Zultan products cover several cymbal series, catering for all sectors of the music market. Zultan also offers accessories such as bags and drumsticks. Thanks to the use of high-quality materials and manufacturing expertise, Zultan really does offer uncompromising quality at a reasonable price.

Microphones love the Raw cymbals

The 15" Zultan Raw Hi-Hat can be used flexibly and, apart from very loud music styles, has virtually no musical limits. Thanks to its moderate volume and balanced frequency spectrum, the Raw hi-hat will also prove its worth in the studio, where it benefits a balanced mix if the cymbals are heard as little as possible on the drum microphones. Even in acoustically difficult locations, for example in large halls or reverberant rehearsal rooms, the Zultan 15" Raw Hi-Hat, like all of the other cymbals of the Raw series, will deliver very good results.

C
The perfect dark phat hats.
Caveperson 08.05.2018
I play everything from Jazz to Metal and these hi-hats sound great in every setting, from soft to loud, the chick is tight, crisp, the open sound is dark and roaring, but doesn't get away from you, due to the cymbals being raw and unlathed. I highly recommend Zultan cymbals. Pro quality B20 bronze at a very nice price. Cheers.

Positively surprised

I was positively surprised - for this price range it's a really good hi-hat. I've been using it for three years (rehersals and gigs) and it's still going without any cracks. I needed a raw sounding hi-hat for my Meinl's Dark Custom crashes and it worked perfectly.

I was surprised with how good these sounded, considering the relatively low price. They produce a great dark sound and are very responsive. I use these for a lot of different genres of music

Rohe Schätzchen, aber leider zu speziell ...
ZultanGearHead 15.02.2018

Nu liegt`s an euch.
