Modern technology, traditional design

The Alesis Strata Prime E-Drum Kit is the current flagship model in the US manufacturer's product range, combining the traditional and timelessly appealing look of an acoustic drum kit with state-of-the-art technology, and accurately reproducing the complete dynamic range of an acoustic kit. A new specially designed module provides 40GB of samples and can translate the most detailed dynamic nuances, while a 20" bass drum, four toms sized 8", 10", 12", and 14", as well as a 14" snare, all in dual-zone design, provide an organic playing feel. The pads are wooden shell drums covered with two-ply mesh heads, complemented by triple zone 360° cymbal pads (2x 16" crash, 18" ride) and a hi-hat operated by a magnetic controller.

Premium-quality sounds

The module of the Alesis Strata Prime E-Drum Kit is operated by a 10.1" touchscreen display and boasts 75 user drum kits and 440 instruments – and 128GB of memory – allowing users to create an almost unlimited number of individual user kits. On top of the default kits, the system includes four additional sound libraries, further enhancing the already huge variety of sounds. Numerous individual samples for every instrument ensure maximum authenticity of sound modulations across the entire dynamic range, with the option of adding up to three layers to every sound. And thanks to the newly developed Trigger Engine, crosstalk problems are a thing of the past, even when other manufacturers' pads are added to the kit.

For the discerning drummer

In the Alesis Strata E-Drum Kit, the manufacturer, whose range incidentally also includes a lot of outstanding entry-level models, has produced an aesthetically appealing electronic drum kit that will enable a smooth transition from acoustic to electronic drums: On the one hand, the playing pad sizes hardly differ from their acoustic counterparts and therefore don't require the user to make any adjustments to their playing technique, while the entirely organic sound of the kit will almost have the audience thinking they are listening to an acoustic drum set. Thanks to its huge sound library, discerning drummers seeking band practice sessions at ear-friendly volume levels will find just the right sounds for every song, and can even further enhance the sound palette as desired. Additionally, its appealing design makes the Alesis Strata Prime E-Drum Kit a true eye-catcher on stage.

About Alesis

Alesis was founded in 1984 by Keith Barr in Hollywood, California, and has become one of the leading manufacturers of signal processors, drum machines, synthesizers, and other studio equipment. The company's most successful products during its early years were the MIDIverb, the HR-16 drum machine, and the ADAT multitrack digital recorders. In 2001, Alesis was acquired by Numark owner Jack O'Donnell and is now part of his InMusic parent company alongside brands like AKAI, Denon, and many other well-known names in the audio manufacturing industry. Alesis has also been a major player in the field of e-drums for many years and offers a large choice of products in all price ranges.

Transparent sound, from practice room to stage

Drummers playing in a band will all have experienced the issue of volume levels spiralling upwards during practice sessions, resulting in ringing ears and an unpleasant sonic mess, especially in acoustically challenging practice rooms. The clean sounds of this e-drum kit can provide some remedy here by contributing to a more transparent overall band sound, as the drum set is no longer dictating the volume for the entire band, but can be adjusted in volume without the drummer constantly needing to dial it back while playing. Of course, the same goes for live gigs, where drummers can often be seen hidden behind Plexiglas screens during concert recordings, isolating them from the rest of the band. A premium-quality e-drum kit such as the Alesis Strata Prime allows drummers to rejoin the action, while the audience will enjoy the more transparent and dynamic sound.
