I buy cheap Behringer products because they (often) are a very big bang for the buck.
The enclosure/parts all that physical stuff is cheap but it's working. What do you need more? I don't roll over a pedal with a car so I don't need all metal enclosures. Behringer stated in a forum that the plastic for the pedals is a special mix that they tested extensively. Music is not my job so I don't know how this Behringer pedals look like if you use them every day on the big stages. Regarding the electrical components I have to admit that as long as it sounds good I don't care if there is mojo stuff in it or not.
The pots are ok there is a resistance while turning so they don't get accidentally readjusted. I really like pedals with a lot of knobs to adjust everything so I like fiddling around with this pedal very much.
The one and only real downside of this pedal (why I actually replaced it) is the very nasty sounding noise when the sustain control is turned up to about 3/4.
Compressors are noisy in extreme settings but this noise is just horrible.
I now use a Boss CS-3 which is also noisy but in a good-sounding way. It sounds more "natural". It's hard to describe but it's not as harsh as the CS400.

The Behringer CS400 Compressor / Sustainer Effect Pedal does an excellent job of emulating the Boss CS-3 pedal. It works and sounds like you'd expect. It's a great value for money product.
