For this price I don't see why Behringer is not No.1. The quality of this product and what it can do to your acoustic guitar sound is phenomenal both for live and recordings. My Taylor sounds so much more warm and proper acoustic when plugged in. Gone is the thin brittle piezo sound. Don't get any of the DI's for acoustics that cost 100's of pounds. This magic box gives them all a run for their money - and how!!

Free up your amp's mic channel.
Larry58 10.11.2022
For small gigs I have found the AD121 works very well with the passive pickups on my mandolin and banjo when plugged into the mic input of my acoustic amp. I only have one instrument channel on my amp. For a second instrument I connect the AD21 3 pin Di out to the 3 pin mic channel. Thought I was going to have to buy another amp!

A very affordable preamp for gigging
Anonymous 26.09.2014
Let me start by saying that this is definitely not a Baggs PADI. Let me also say that it costs about 1/10 of the PADI's price. Generally speaking it will tame the "quack" associated with USTs (under-saddle transducers). The sweepable mids are a great feature especially considering the price and besides EQing that control can also be used to kill any feedback that you might be getting. The blend knob should be used with caution as a little goes a long way and you can easily get valve-like distortion out of it (useful for electric guitar though). Overall a nice product for the price, make sure you invest in an AC adapter as it can't be powered by phantom power and it can eat through batteries relatively easy. A plus is that it can double as an active DI box.

Suprisingly powerful!

Tricky to set up, you can either totally destroy the sound or enhance it to the point where crappy piezos sound pleasent enough. Box feels sturdy despite the plastic. Fantastic value!

Improved my tone
Sean470 13.11.2013
This little wonder was such a great find. I started with the idea of buying a normal DI
to change my passive acoustic guitar pickup signal to balanced signal. To take advantage of the extra 10/20 decibels of gain available from going into the desk via
XLR.
But this having tone and volume control I thought It would be more useful. And It is!
For the First time last week I could hear my guitar properly at a concert! And I used it as a volume switch to take it up or down as needed.
I would recommend the Behringer V-Tone Acoustic AD121.
Really useful piece of gear, especially if you have a guitar passive pick-up with no nearby volume and tone control.
I'd also recommend this for violin or mandolin players with passive pickups, more control of your tone and volume and better stronger balanced signal via XLR = awesome.

Bravo Behringer
Anonymous 22.01.2015
This is one of the best deals available in DI Boxes. It is nothing fancy but it works really well for home use. In my case I didn't want to buy an acoustic guitar amp for my room. My home stereo system has a mic in input but plugging the guitar straight into it would sound too harsh. This solves the problem and I don't need to buy another bulky amp for my room. I comes with eq knobs and tube amp simulator. All in al I am very satisfied with the product and I would totally recommend it.

Great little unit
Anonymous 13.05.2014
I run this unit with a 9v psu so there is no issue with battery consumption. The difference it makes to the guitar sound is very noticable. That's a positive comment by the way. The booklet that comes with it offers settings suggestions for your style of playing and the results are very agreeable.
Sometimes use a 'Dean Markley' soundhole pick-up with no pre-amp. Running it thorugh the AD121 gives it all the volume and punch needed. Very pleased with my purchase.

A Must Have For Acoustic Guitar Amplification...
AmitPundir 10.02.2023
This DI is the best value for money product for sure...it has limited features but worth the price tag...the sound mix produced by the blend nob is growing on me...power chords are much powerful now...and clean amplification is fantastic...just play around with the controls to get the perfect sound you need...just go for it you will not regret.
Few Important Points Here...Better to bundle up and order all together
1. Buy a 1/4 inch mono jack cable to get the input from guitar to pedal...your existing 1/4 inch stereo cable might not work
2. Buy 1/4 inch stereo cable or XLR Male - XLR Female cable as per the Amp you have for output from this pedal
3. Buy a separate Power supply : Thomann NT 0910 AC/PSA to power up this pedal instead of using a 9v battery
