Well made, plays well... but not outright better than the SB7-x
TK--- 25.06.2017
So I got this mute because I wanted a practice mute with amplified feedback.

My partner has the Yamaha Silentbrass (SB7-X, the latest version) so I thought I'd be different and buy the e-Brass for myself instead...

What attracted me to this is that it doesn't require the additional box of electronics that the Silentbrass does - just plug in headphones and go.

There are upsides and downsides to this...
The BestBrass is heavier than the Yamaha in the bell (because it's mute plus electronics rather than just mute), but you don't have a mess of cables everywhere like you do with the Yamaha.

Soundwise, the tone is usable for practice purposes - it comes across well enough to diagnose any issues and loud enough that you don't end up overblowing the mute (the biggest problem with practicing with a very quiet mute in)... the Yamaha might have a slight edge in sound quality, but as it's a practice tool and nothing more this doesn't really bother me much.

As the other important aspect of practice mutes is that they're quiet (for the people around you, or next door or whatever), maybe I ought to say something about volume - yes, it's very quiet and it'll do the job of keeping fussy people around you happy.

p
Very nice alternative to the mainstream

This practise mute does deliver with is claim for 30 dB of noise. I?m also please that the added weight from having the batteries in the mute is very tolerable, and for me it's better than having another device attached by a cable to the mute.
The sound is at least at the same quality level of the competition. The air resistance is the expected for a practice mute, no bad surprises here.
It could have more readable marks on the levels controls.
They really did put their efforts on the mute and not on the box, you will get a normal almost unmarked cardboard box with the mute, for me this is a "we are not kidding" product, but the earphones provided could be a little better.

G
Excellent product!

It took me a lot of time to decide to choose between this product and the similar one. I chose to buy this and i am very satisfied! It's not heavy at all and it's a perfect mute. Also the sound through the headphones is excellent! Very close to the natural sound! The aux in function is very useful, to practice for hours and not disturb anyone. The echo function has poor sound, so it's not necessary. If it had a reverb fx would be much better.
Very good materials are used. My baby daughter droped it in the water bowl of my dog. I let it dry for a day and everything works perfectly!
