I am a classically trained guitarist who plays all sorts of stuff and I've been in search for a cutway guitar with a slimmer neck and possibly a truss rod which could serve me equally well both in studio as on a stage. Given that I've already had Cordoba Fusion 12 Maple, which was not a bad guitar, but which I've ultimately returned (I've made an extensive review of it so I won't go into details here; I encourage everyone interested to check it out), I will make a comparison between the two models, it will maybe be useful for those who are in a dilemma about which model of these two to choose.
Both guitars were of a comparable build quality, with two differences; the frets on the Fusion Maple seemed to be a bit less polished than on this one. It wasn't a great deal of a difference and it definitely wouldn't be a dealbreaker, because it's one of the issues that's quite easy to remedy (the frets on both guitars were nicely rounded and smooth at the edges of the neck, they weren't sharp, so that suggests some consistency in that detail at least). Another difference was more serious; with Fusion Orchestra Cedar there was a strange rattling/buzzing sound when playing the empty 6th string, and this sound seemed to be emanating from the body of the guitar (it didn't seem to be coming from the bridge, because strings were tied pretty snugly, so maybe a cable or some part of a preamp?).
Now we come to the most important thing for me; the sound. Even though the Fusion 12 Maple is about 50 euros cheaper, it had a far more convincing sound that this one. Both guitars suffer from a bit of a ''plasticky'' and ''muffled'' sound, but Fusion 12 Maple was far more enjoyable both to play and listen; it had more projection and the tone with which you can at least work with. The basses were more pleasant too, even though they weren't loud.
Based on these experiences, if I've had to choose between these two models, I would definitely go for the Maple one; not only it sounds better and the wood on the guitar is visually more pretty, you'll also save yourself 50 euros.
