Almost as good as NYXL!!
Shinigamy91 07.12.2018
I was looking for a set light top / heavy bottom that could come close to the sound of NYXL sets, and this one is pretty damn close! Only downside (or a plus side of NYXL) is that these don't last as long as NYXL. But since these are two times cheaper than NYXL, I think it's a pretty good deal!

So, I play in D standard tuning, and these are according to that tuning:

Sound, they are among the best sounding strings I know. Very clear bright top end, and tight low end. They do seem to have a bit of a mid bump, but nothing too insane, and it's really very helpful when recording quad track guitars in a really heavy metal mix, I can notice the difference really well.

Intonation wise, they do need just a tiny bit more time to get stretched into staying in tune compared to NYXL, but these hold tuning really well. And the intonation decay after playing these for two-three days is really low! That means that the string and the tone played is in tune longer and doesn't begin to drop immediately. Great for recording sessions where it's important to have everything in tune all the time!

Overall, until NYXL offer light top / heavy bottom set, these are my main strings for time to come!

My favourite strings!
Anonymous 18.11.2016
We all know the challenge of finding our favorite strings.... sometimes we stick with the same strings for years, simply because we can get only the one set at our local guitar dealer, or we tried them once and didn't bother trying something else after. I've tried various manufacturers and gauges, looking for a set of strings that sounds good, feels good, lasts, doesn't cost a fortune. I mostly play in Drop C, and these are the strings I've settled for for a while now. Why? Well, first, the gauge is exactly what I like to play. It's not too loose, not too tight (for me - this is purely subjective) on a 25.5" scale in Drop C. Secondly, they last a bit longer than other strings I've had. And thirdly - the sound! When putting them on the first time on my Tele, I already noticed there's much more clarity and "sing" to these than to most other (Nickel) strings. Unplugged as well as plugged, clean or high gain - they sound so mich brighter and clearer. Really really beautiful. It's really a pity you can't get the Pro Steels in many other gauges, would love them in a 11-56 for my lower tunings or a 10-64 for my 7strings... but hey, for 6string Drop C, these are by far my favourite strings!

bright and brilliant

nice bright strings and very strong. i buy a lot of daddario strings because the quality is superb and these are no different. i wanted a change from nickel and tried these and am not disapointed. they are still really nice and bright even though i put them on months ago but its not my everyday guitar, but i like to have a few differences between my guitars to have more creative tonal range and these fit the bill perfectly.

Good durability of good tones
Andrea. 03.04.2018
I used those strings on a 25.5" scale guitar and they are good for standard tuning and drop D tuning if you like harder tension and even in a half-step down and standard D tuning they doesn't become flabby. I totally recommend this product.
