Great pickups!
Anonymous 14.12.2014
These pickups are very well made, have no hum or discernible noise and provide plenty of tonal options. I fitted them onto my 2007 Jazz Bass.

The sound is very subjective - I find them to be very 'clean' sounding and not very 'growly' or 'vintage' sounding. I really like the sound of them. The neck pickup is very warm but still has that crisp Di Marzio 'round' sound, and the bridge pickup has more of the classic Fender bridge 'Jaco' sound. I imagine the sound will vary from instrument to instrument. Between the neck and the bridge pickups there are plenty of tonal options and they seem to do subtlety well.

They are absolutely noise cancelling. There is no hum at all in any position. Playing in venues with big lighting rigs proves no problem at all (although that could be down to shielding within my bass).

Fitting was easy as they were drop in replacements, and the wiring was also no problem. Instructions are provided within.

Overall they are great pickups if you want a super clean sound, no noise at all, a lot of tonal options, and non vintage sound.

This is all my personal opinion as the sound of pickups is very subjective. I mostly use this particular bass for live function gigs and studio work. I've found these pickups are great for this purpose.

Silent and powerful with a modern sound.

These are my go-to Jazz bass Pickups. It's a pity that the pole pieces aren't staggered, so with a rounder radiused fret board the outside strings are closer to their pole pieces than the middle pair of strings and I can hear them as being slightly louder than the middle pair. Otherwise though the sound is clean, noiseless and punchy. Especially for the price, these are great!

Very good sounding pickups! I replaced the standard pickups on my Fender Jazz with these, and they are much better sounding! The lows seem lower, and the highs are more singing-sounding. Also, they have more output. I am really satisfied with these pickups. :)

Putting the Ultra in Jazz
Anonymous 07.07.2015
I was searching for a replacement for the Fender Noiseless pick ups on my MIM Deluxe as I was growing a little tired of the stock pickups limitations in a band mix. I felt I needed more bite and cut but still retain that full bottom end. After trying a few manufacturers offerings the DiMarzio Ultra Jazz set were just what I wanted, more pronounced lows and highs and more of that classic jazz bass scoop with both pickups on.
All the old school tones are still there along with as much snarl and growl as I care to dial in. These are keepers.

best replacement for any jazz bass factory PU. excellent jazz bass tone without any noise in single coil mode. a kind of marcus miller (a bit mid scooped) sound. no active electronics needed. can be wired series and parallel. worth every cent. highly recommended upgrade part for every jazz bass. easy to install.
