These made a huge difference. I watched Billy Sheehan's excellent YouTube video on these and decided to try to upgrade my Mexican Fender Jazz and hoped they would make a difference, and WOW, didn't they just! A bridge change, and a drop D tuner added and this is now my main gigging bass and every bit as good as my USA Pro 2 jazz.

Ich habe diese Pickups in meinen Am Std. J-Bass eingebaut. Das Ergebnis ist ziemlich beindruckend: Ein in meinen Ohren sehr schönes Rock - Voicing und wirklich unglaublich hohe Ausgangs-Power haben diese Blöcke. Und mucksmäuschenstill. Der Einbau ist simpel, lediglich die Befestigung an der unteren Pickup-Platine ist ungewöhnlich. Man muss sich über eine angepasste Unterfütterung / Abfederung Gedanken machen. Billie empfiehlt Silikon-Schlauchstücke - die muss man aber erst mal haben…
Es liegt aber genügend Schaumstoff bei, aus der man sich herkömmliche Kissen schneiden kann.
Die PU-Magneten können, müssen aber nicht eingestellt werden, Die schrauben sind gewachst. Ich musste die offenen Magnetpole für E und A in das Gehäuse versenken, damit beim gelegentlichen Auftreffen der Saiten kein überlautes Geräusch entsteht. Das macht natürlich das klangorientierte Einstellen für die Schraub-Pole obsolet - ich komme aber klar.
Die abgerundeten Gehäusekanten sind handschmeichlerisch gut - alleine das wäre schon ein Kaufgrund gewesen. Endlich keine schmerzhaften Finger mehr durch elend kantige J-Platikkappen.

Excelent improvement for my Fender Jazz Bass

When I bought my Fender MIM Jazz Bass, it came, of course, with the stock pickups which were not bad at all, but I felt they lacked personality.
I decided to buy these DiMarzio Relentless pickups after watching a review from Tanya O'Callaghan (base player with Dee Snider, Whitesnake and Bruce Dickinson, amongst others). She personally endorses these pickups and... boy is she right to do so. By comparison with the Fender stock pickups is... night vs day. The have powerfull personality, punchness, roundness and are way above any Jazz Bass pickups I hed.
I fully and wholeheartedly recommend them.
Oh, they are TOTALY SILENT! No buzz, no hum, absolutely no unwanted noise. The price is not quite low, but they are worth every penny.
If you have a Jazz bass and want to improve it, these pickups can be real improvement to any stock pickups that came with your bass.
