I mounted a couple of these pickups (bridge and neck) on my japanese strat from 1987 (one of those with the 12" radius neck and fender system-one locking tremolo). The manufacturing of the pickups could be a little better, the screws that come with them were too big for the holes in my pickguard and they have a flat head, which doesn't sink well in the original conic holes.
On the other hand the sound is great! On clean sound they sound a lot like humbuckers so your strat will not sound like a strat, but with distortion they still retain a lot of twang, which I love, with a lot of added body. I was happy I left one of the original Fender pickups in the middle position because it sounds very nice in parallel with the DiMarzio for cleans.
My house has extremely strong electromagnetic interference because I live close to a power line, and these pickups cancel the hum completely.
I would recommend this PU to those mainly using heavy overdrive/distorsion. If you want to retain the strat sound on cleans you're probably better off with something milder.
