DR Strings Nickel Lo-Rider NLH-40

I tried about 15 different string sets before i decided to go with the tite fite nickel lowrider from DR and since then I use these strings on all my basses.

The sound of these strings is very ballanced and fresh with a full bottom end but not gloomy and brilliant highs but not harsh. When they are new on the bass, i need to days of some playing that they sound exactly as i want it. In this first time they have too much overtones and too much highs but these go away after a little while. From that point on they stay brilliant and round for quiet a long time and much longer every other string i have ever played.

what i also like is the feeling of these nickelstrings. They are very smooth and you can easily slide over the strings without higher noise.

The difference to the other nickelstrings, the sunbeams, is the hexcore string inside, that brings a stiffer feeling than the sunbeams. I like the .45 more than the .40 because of their rounder low end bass when playing finger style, while i use the .40 for slapping.

Overall these are simply the best bass strings I know.

und vielen unnötig ausgegebenen Euros für "tolle" Saiten bin ich auf DR Saiten und dann irgendwann auf die STRINGS TITE FITE LITE NLH-40 gestoßen. Zuerst war ich auf die HI-BEAMS versessen, die sind mir dann aber etwas zu höhenbetont geworden.

Alle DR Saiten fühlen sich etwas weicher aber auch rauer als andere Mitbewerber an, was ich sehr begrüße.

Die Haltbarkeit ist im Vergleich zu anderen Marken sehr stark verlängert. Ich spiele jeden Satz bis zu drei Monate, ohne eine zu starke Abnutzung feststellen zu können.

Sehr entgegen kommt mir die mittig-drückende Grundausrichtung der Saiten und kann dem DR-Satz aus der Werbung zu diesen Saiten: "These bass strings are even, long lasting, and loud...with a mid-range growl", ohne Wenn und Aber zustimmen.

Spiele die DR Nickel-Lows jetzt seit über 2 Jahren und habe keinen Grund, weitere Marken oder Sätze auszuprobieren.

Kielet ovat tietenkin makuasia, mutta käytyäni läpi monta eri merkkiä (D'Addario, Curt Mangan, Elixir, EBS, ja DR:ltä Sunbeams ja Hi-Beams) olen päätynyt näinin, enkä usko että tulen vaihtamaan.

Nämä ovat jäykemmät kuin DR Sunbeams, mutta tuntuvat yhtä mukavilta sormille, eivätkä lätise matalalla kielikorkeudella.

Soundi on omasta mielestäni aavistuksen low-mid-painotteinen, joka toimii erittäin hyvin jos haluaa "vintagempaa" soundia vaikkapa presarin kanssa. Uuden kielen "zing" häviää tietenkin näissäkin kuherruskuukauden jälkeen, mutta sen jälkeen soundi pysyy hyvänä kauan. Olen soittanut samalla setillä aktiivisesti noin vuoden, enkä näe vielä mitään syytä vaihtaa.

Soittotuntuma on mielestäni näiden paras ominaisuus, se on erittäin pehmeä ja tarkantuntiunen. Kielet eivät tartu sormiin ja sormenpäät ovat kunnossa myös pidemmän keikan jälkeen.

(Jos haluaa enemmän jäykkyyttä kannattaa kokeilla samaa kielisettiä paksumpana, eli Tite Fite Medium NMH-45. Käytin niitä ensin, muttä 40 on ollut minulle sopivampi paksuus.)

Ce sont les seules DR entièrement nickel, donc si vous aimez les cordes filées ronds sans les aigues criards des cordes stainless, jetez-vous dessus. Excellent équilibre sonore des 4 cordes, ma Précision sonne "précision" et ma Jazz Bass a un son de Jazz bass. Le prix n'est pas donné mais vu la longévité de ces cordes, le jeux en vaut la chandelle. Mes cordes pour mes Fender pour un moment je pense.
