EMG's - Awesome
Phillybob 18.05.2020
Fitted these to my 1980s Westone Quantum Bass. OMG!! simply AWSOME pick ups.
EMG's are simply amazing for rock and especially metal however the tonal quality across the complete spectrum of sound is just staggering.
They are so easy to install even if you have never touched a pickup in your life.
If you've never used a bass with EMG's try one.
Clean sound delivers a vibrant punch through low, mid and top end just using guitar tone when flat on amp. Processed, the sound is limitless. Crisp, clean rounded tones through a chorus - punchy funk when slapping. Growling Metal when using overdrive with slight compression.
EMG's once you've used them, you won't want to use anything else.

Really like the sound of these humbucker sized bass pickups. Nice and punchy, deep and plenty of cut.

A
Steinberger humbucker
Anonymous 04.04.2014
The build and design of these pickups is second to non. Both technically and aesthetically, EMG never fail to impress and this model, used commonly for the whole Steinberger range, is no exception. The pickup it's self is very solid and the hi level of build quality is evident in the look and feel of the unit. The electronics and pots that come as part of the purchase are of the same hi quality, and more so in design than build due to the solder less system, which makes everything seem very neat and hassle free. Sound wise these pickups are extremely precise and clear sounding but still aggressive if played hard. These pickups will not suit lovers of vintage or traditional sounding pickups and could be considered quite cold sounding to some ears. These pickups are exceptional for recording with as they sound very clear, neutral and true, giving the option for post production capabilities EQ wise.

Not for Steinbergers
Neil8805 09.09.2022
Really poor the pots do little to nothing except pop and bang. the wiring is wrong for a Steinberger XL2. I had to make mods which I'm still working on to salvage this crap show. worse case I'll put the SS EMG's back in
