The moment I started playing on these strings I was struck by how different they are from many of the strings I've used in the past.
The sound in itself is actually quite different from your regular strings. It's hard to describe, but there is something similar to a Contrabass Clarinet in the sound wave, sort of like a square wave.
Also, I felt that the tone is very stable and responds well to hard playing.
Another detail is that when the strings were new, they were a bit demanding on the finger skin. I wasn't sliding overly much, initially. You can really feel that the strings are not of regular material.
Though the strings don't stay new for very long, they continue to work for quite some time. They don't get unplayable, but they do get miscolored quite quickly, which I could imagine some people would not appreciate.
Though I'm not sure the sound of the strings is for everyone, I do think they are worth a try, just out of how unusual they are. I might not use them for everything myself, but I definitely do want to use them for some of my projects. And, particularly for distorted guitars.
