I am a big fan of Ernie Ball strings. And I have been using the Cobalt Strings for a while and compared to the "normal" strings it sounds louder and tighter and they last longer. I decided to try the M-steel which is basically the Cobalt with a steel core. And I feel they have the same property of the cobalt but even louder and so far they have lasted quite a long time. I am very happy with it!

Another winner from Ernie Ball
Stuart4204 26.04.2016
I like to try different string gauges and brands but I always end up back at Ernie Balls.....and it's usually the slinkys I go for.
I recently bought these as I play SKA music (lots of hard chops) on my Telecaster and I wanted a bit more "volume" when jumping into lead parts without having to fuss around with controls. That said, I reckoned the Skinny Top/Heavy Bottom would be ideal for my type of playing.
These strings certainly delivered, not only that, I never managed to break any of them! The only thing I had to struggle with was string bending due to the heavier gauge but I soon toughened up the fingertips to compensate. I also noticed they keep their tone longer than other strings, which is great because....who wants to spend time changing strings!
I'm very happy with these and (sorry Fender) have ditched the bullets as I keep breaking them. I will also be trying them on my Les Paul just to see how they fair over burstbuckers.
Give your playing a boost and try these out, I don't think you will be disappointed !!

mean metal strings, strong cobalt unwound strings for tremolo wilds :-)
Rp11 12.09.2023
especially for 65,5 cm long necks (like fender or strandberg)
on my gibson short neck 63 cm not so
(then prefer EB regular slinky 10-46).
Unfortunately there was an error. Please try again later.

Die neuen Ernie ball M-Steel Saiten!
Ralf0125 19.12.2014
