The EV ETX-12P is an active speaker with integrated DSP, limiter, and FIR filtering which is characterised by its organic and powerful sound and feels just as at home in a gig and touring context as in a permanent installation. The top units of the ETX series are available in 10", 12", and 15" sizes, and two matching 15" and 18" subwoofers are available as well. The Electro-Voice flagship series is recommended for professional musicians and bands, DJs, and organisers for all kinds of live entertainment and offers versatile technical innovations, including the patented "SST Waveguide Design" and the "QuickSmart DSP". These speakers are ready to take on any challenge.
No compromises in sound and performance: Like its bigger siblings, the EV ETX-12P has a powerful 2000-watt, particularly effective Class D power amplifier that keeps cool even in the hottest environments. An SMX 12-inch bass speaker and DH3-B 1.25-inch titanium compression tweeter operate inside the 18mm thick, 13-ply, tour-ready birch plywood chassis. The maximum sound pressure level is a whopping 135dB. The frequency range is from 43Hz to 20kHz with a dispersion angle of 90°x60°. For the crossovers, Electro-Voice uses FIR filter technology, as found in the company's large concert speaker systems. The proprietary FIR drive design optimises the transducer's linearity for a precise, balanced sound output.
Flexibility and workflow are very important to the ETX series: The ETX-12P has two adjustable XLR/jack inputs for microphone and line signals, and another speaker can be controlled via the XLR output. The integrated QuickSmart Pro DSP makes a convincing case with its intuitive menu navigation via rotary encoder and LCD, input level control, and master volume control as well as special dispersion control technology for the subwoofers. A parametric EQ is on board for fine-tuning the sound or eliminating unwanted frequencies, as well as delay adjustment and different presets for all possible scenarios (club, live, music, and speech) and locations. Last but not least, the ETX-12P comes with a convenient setup wizard that helps with setting up different top unit/subwoofer combinations.
Electro-Voice was founded in 1927 and has been dedicated to building sound reinforcement systems and microphones since the 1930s. The firm, originally based in Indiana, USA, is considered one of the industry pioneers and has developed many new technologies still in use today. For example, their hum-cancelling coil was not only a milestone for microphone construction, but also was at the origin of the humbucker pickups still used in many guitars. In the long history of the company, Electro-Voice has constantly expanded its offer and today sells a wide range of products for sound reinforcement tasks from entry to professional levels.
Thanks to the slanted monitor, dual-tilt stand flange, and eight mounting points as well as its solid, concert-grade construction, the EV ETX-12P feels at home on every stage and in every setup, whether it is permanently installed or used as a mobile side-fill, monitor, or front-of-house PA speaker. Designed for everyday touring and band life, the speaker family brings a high level of performance and sound fidelity to the stage and offers suitable expansion possibilities with the ETX-10P and ETX-15P. The combinable ETX-15SP and ETX-18SP subwoofers provide the necessary low end at concerts. But that doesn't just apply to the big stage, because of course you can't go wrong if you are an acoustic duo, a DJ, or a solo entertainer with high demands in terms of sound and comfort if you rely on these EV performance speakers.
