EV Evid 6.2 Black

My introduction to the Evid 6.2 Black speakers:

I first came across these Evid speakers when assisting in the installation of sound equipment at a convention centre seating 2000 1 pair of the Evid 6.2 Black speakers gave crystal clear speech reproduction and impressive music reproduction. We were attaining a good 70-80db in the main seating area which was very comfortable for speech with plenty of headroom.

My response:

I just had to have a pair for my personal kit which I use for small venues of up to 400 people.

Quality:

The Evid is a robust speaker of ergonomic design with excellent space coverage. While the Evid is designed for wall mounting with a suitable L bracket I adapted them for mounting on speaker stands which better suits my purpose.
For permanent installations they are very adaptable using the swivel mounting bracket which locks into place.

Negatives:

The only area that could use improvement is the cable connecter which is adequate for permanently installed speakers but needs the cables to be secured to the mounting bracket in my own situation e.g. a portable setup. Electrovoice produce as an extra an outdoor terminal cover which gives the cable a more robust anchorage.

Would I recommend the Evid speakers?

Yes I would. - For small and large venues. For their robust construction and most surprisingly for their price, these replaced four so called low cost box speakers which cost more than the pair of Evids and were nowhere as good in sound reproduction.

Bottom Line:

I have been using this pair of Evids with great success since I purchased them and with the performance from them so far I can see that they will continue to give great service for years to come.

Insgesamt vier von diesen EV Evid 6.2 habe ich in einem Jugendcafé verbaut.
Nach Beratung durch Thomann fiel die Wahl auf die größeren Evids um auf einen Subwoofer in dem recht großen, aber nicht sehr hohen Raum verzichten zu können.

Beim Montieren schon zeigte sich, die Lautsprecher sind gut verarbeitet und wirken sehr wertig. Das EV-Befestigungssystem für diese Lautsprecher lässt sich bequem, relativ schnell und sehr flexibel montieren.

Der Klang der Lautsprecher ist auch erste Sahne.
Kurzum habe ich mich nach dem ersten Testhören gegen einen Equalizer entschieden, war/ist nicht nötig.
Die vier Lautsprecher zusammen liefern einen angenehmen Bass, der je nach Position bei höheren Lautstärken im Raum sogar etwas zu sehr dröhnen kann (wobei das natürlich absolut Raumabhängig ist).
Die Mitte wird sehr gut abgedeckt und auch die Höhen wirken klar.
Insgesamt finde ich das Klangbild sehr angenehm und ausgewogen, sowohl bei niedrigen Lautstärken, als auch dann wenn es mal etwas lauter wird.

Bei einer 60 Personen-Party vor kurzem dienten die vier Evids zusätzlich zu zwei 15"/1" Fullrange-Yamaha-Boxen als Mittel- und Hochtöner.
Sie haben sich sehr gut durchgesetzt und ich war überrascht welche Lautstärken sie ohne Klangverlust liefern können.
Wenn man nicht gerade körpererfassenden Elektro-Tiefbass braucht, sind zusätzliche Lautsprecher eigentlich gar nicht mehr nötig.

Ich bin rundum sehr zufrieden mit diesen, auch noch cool aussehenden Evids und kann sie hiermit gern weiterempfehlen.

Achetées pour monter chez des clients en fixe, leur principal atout a été leur design qui change un peu.

A l'ouverture, l'emballage est costaud, ça fait bonne impression. Les outils (clés 6 pans) sont fournis pour le montage, ce qui n'est pas un luxe.

Au montage, ça se monte facilement : 4 ancrages dans le mur, un seul ancrage dans l'enceinte qu'on peut monter d'un côté ou de l'autre suivant l'orientation (et ça permet une jolie symétrie dans la salle), c'est vite posé, et c'est solide !

A l'essai, le son est pas mal, ça manque peut-être un peu de définition dans les aigus, mais la salle joue aussi. En volume sonore, on est largement servi si l'on a un ampli correct derrière.

Monté en sonorisation multipoints, ça rend vachement bien, le volume dans la salle est super homogène, et le design une fois au mur est plutôt accrocheur.

Ce n'est pas l'enceinte du siècle, mais c'est la qualité ElectroVoice, et le design est plutôt cool !
