What a shame! Shame on Evans for putting their name to this! I was astonished how poor the quality was when pulling this out of the box. It is very thin with hardly any padding and the material used is really cheap. The Evans logo is a cheap vinyl print-on instead of a sewn-on rubberised badge. The stitching of the pad is also very poor and I could have done a better job myself with a sewing machine and that is saying something! There are no velco strips stitched to the top of the pad either (only the under side) so any layering of additional pads would be fiddly. You could 'stick' another EQ Pad on top but after time, this would lift off. Especially as the pads' material surface is wide-pore fabric.
I have a couple of the older design Evans EQ Pads and they are OK. So having read this new one is a little wider so giving a little extra spread on the bass drum surface, I thought it would be great. Not so! I would imagine this would have cost no more than a few cents to make in a Chinese factory and it shows. Terrible quality product and I advise you to look at something else for your drum dampening needs. To sum this product up - Avoid!
