Fender Noiseless Set Strat Vintage WH

119

Pickup-Set

There is probably not a guitar in the world that has been played by as many people as the Fender Stratocaster. And hardly any other guitars allow for such hardware flexibility and DIY as the Strat, so it should come as no surprise that Fender offers a huge range of different pickups.

Fender single coils have a fantastic sound, but also a tiny flaw: they hum. High gain amps, light shows, etc. may suffice to drive some guitarists crazy. For sensitive souls, Fender has developed the Noiseless Strat Set - pickups without unwanted noise - whose basic sound is still sound rather vintage, plus a little louder and more balanced than the original.

RQ
Fender Noiseless Set Strat Vintage pickups
Robert Q. 08.02.2014
These pickups solve the SC noise issues for the most part. They're an easy fit, but do remember that you have to fit the complete kit, 1-meg pots, cap, and the treble-bleed kit. This last has been known to be missing in some kits. If you don't do all the components your sound will be dullish, as these are really humbucking pickups with one coil over the other, and a corresponding loss of high frequencies. They're not for everybody. The sparkle isn't the same as the real SC's, and the "feel" is different, so if you're after the genuine SC sound, and must have it at any cost, then don't buy these. OTOH, if you have an open mind and want to try something different, or are fed up of noise, these might be just the ticket.

DG
Sounds good to me

Some people bemoan the noiseless pick up for taking a bit from the sound quality. Frankly it sounds good enough to me. I have mine going through an Obsidian Wire solderless harness that allows me to blend the neck pick up into the bridge and vice versa.

I play both clean and dirty.... these pickups are highly recommended. Fantastic through a real tube amp.... great tone. Isn't that what we all seek, a great tone.

BI
Classic Fender tone without classic Fender hum
Benjamin I. 02.11.2022
Not much to say, as everybody knows, they have a slightly narrower spectrum in the extreme lows and extreme highs compared to pure vintage pickups, but no hum despite any amount of distortion you add. So, instead of a having a tiny little bit more spectrum that you don't enjoy because it's drowned in buzz, you get a very pretty Fender sound that you can enjoy no matter what.

The pots and components are first-rate, easily soldered, easily mounted, no issues. One of the pots has a somewhat more firm rotation so I'll set it as the volume cause it gets more use and you don't want the sound to change if you just brushed the potentiometer by chance. I'd prefer pure white or black covers since these colors are an easier match with most any other color, but the creme-color covers look okay on my Strat copy.
