A classic that won't break the bank

If guitarists were forced to choose one guitar to play for the rest of their lives, surely it would have to be this one: The Fender Stratocaster, a true classic and the most popular electric guitar of all time. The Player Series Stratocaster shown here is made in Mexico and gives players the most affordable way to get their hands on a Strat with the Fender logo on the headstock. The guitar's features are anything but budget-level, of course, and it combines high-quality woods and hardware with updated tone circuits and a fresh and appealing look that includes a one-piece maple neck with a matt finish on the back and an alder body, shown here in a tasty-looking "Buttercream" finish.

Judiciously modernised

The Fender Player Series Stratocaster is the same in many ways as the original design that Leo Fender came up with in the early 1950s. The neck and fingerboard are made from a single piece of maple, and the neck features a modern "C" profile. The fingerboard adds an extra fret to the original model's 21, thus providing even more freedom for lead playing. As mentioned before, the body is made from alder and comes in a high-gloss "Buttercream" finish. The classic Stratocaster pickup combination of three single coils is also present here, but these feature AlNiCo-5 magnets for a more modern twist on the bright, dynamic sound for which Stratocasters are known. Fender has modified the electronics compared to the original Stratocaster design by giving the bridge pickup its own tone control, while the second tone control is shared by the middle and neck pickups. This model also features a two-point tremolo system, which dramatically reduces friction and enhances tuning stability.

An all-rounder AND a specialist

The Fender Player Series Strat MN BCR is an extremely flexible guitar, but its pickup configuration of course means that it specialises in some areas more than others. Specifically, this guitar is most suited to clean sounds and moderate levels of distortion - this is where the pickups really come into their own with a punchy, open sound that retains plenty of character and fullness within the recommended gain limits. Players of Country, Western, Blues, and Classic Rock music can thus be sure of a great sound on stage and in the rehearsal room. The Fender Player Series of course also includes Strats with pickup combinations more suited to heavier musical styles.

About Fender

Fender is without doubt one of the most legendary guitar and amplifier manufacturers of all time. The company was founded in 1946 by its namesake Leo Fender († 1991), whose innovative ideas brought a breath of fresh air into the musical world. His Telecaster, Stratocaster, Precision Bass, and Jazz Bass are not only classics – they also continue to shape the styles of musicians in countless genres to this day. Timeless Fender amplifier models such as the Bassman, Twin, Deluxe, and Princeton also enjoy a stellar reputation. Besides maintaining its classic product portfolio, however, the company is also constantly developing new products that make Fender a driving force in today’s music industry.

Just try to put it down again...

Since it was launched by Fender in 1954, the Stratocaster has established itself as the ultimate electric guitar and can thus be found in virtually every style of music. The Fender Player Series is aimed at the mid-price market segment, and the Mexican-made guitars combine quality that will satisfy demanding players with an affordable price that makes them interesting for beginners as well. And even at this price point, they proudly bear the "proper" Fender logo. These guitars also offer high resale values, perfect for players who want to upgrade or who perhaps decide that the guitar isn't the instrument for them after all (in which case their Fender definitely won't be to blame!).

The guitar has its own pros and cons, but generally it didn't disappoint me.
Linas B 04.07.2021
First of all the color of guitar is absolutely stunning, real it looks even better than in picture, color is pure yellow.
Guitar sounds really well, but I have nothing to compare in that level, I had Squier before. So I can confidently say that Strat has much richer and solid timbre and sound.
The sixth string had a little buzzing, but I picked up bridge of that string and now it sound normally and purely.
I was worried a little bit about electronic noise when I was touching strings. After consultation with professionals and owners of Fender I came to the conclusion, that it’s probably absolutely normal for Fender guitars who has a single coil pickup, especially if you live in Eastern Europe in old houses with bad grounding in the circuit.
I’m happy with my guitar, and I will keep it with all the pros & cons.

FT
Gorgeous guitar, terrible setup
Fran The Man 04.11.2019
As soon as I opened the box the buttercream colour made me scream: what a lovely lovely colour! The guitar is gorgeous. Classic look with a very modern feeling. The neck is smooth as silk and it is very easy to play.
The only flaw is the setup: terrible terrible setup! The guitar was out of tune with a super high action. the bridge needs some serious setup. I will replace the pickups with a Seymour Duncan YJM loaded pickguard. I will also install Fender locking tuners in order to improve tuning stability.

Overall: very good value for money. The Fender Player is a perfect guitar to start with. The guitar will grow up with you: you can change bridge, tuning keys, pickups...You will LOVE the buttercream colour and LOVE the neck feeling (the fretwork is not bad at all!). Maybe you will need a little bit of time to setup the guitar properly.

Much more that I expected.
J.S.S 26.10.2022
For the price this is the best guitars I've had. Fretwork, finish and quality control was astonishing all around. Everything was set up well out of the box, I did some small changes to the trem tension and was very surprised by how neatly everything was set up in the back cavity. All in all everything is as expected, and if there's something you don't like it's easy enough to mod. Personally I'll put some locking tuners on mine, since the tremolo action tends to set it out of tune real quick.

Superb MIM upgrade
makkker 08.10.2018
The body: huge, massive, robust body, compared to the former MIM standard. I resonates unbelievably well acoustically. The neck is somewhere between the modern C and very soft V. Very comfortable. Definitely a pro compared to the lighter body of the MIM standard.

The sound: it plays on a very wide range, however mainly it is a relatively hot strat sound. All pickups have more bass and a bit more high then for ex. a vintage sounding one. The clean is beautiful, and due to the hotter winding you reach a wide range of setups. If you dial back with the volume you can get close to vintage stuff as well. So If I ever change the pickups I'd keep this set, because its huge. I used it in one gig so far, and it held up the band surprisingly good compared to strats.

Build quality: as far as I can measure, it is perfectly built, no sharp edges, no extra laquer on the frets, and the buttercream color is love at first sight!

I would recommend the guitar and the service without hesitation.
