This Lightweight Boom stand is way too light. If you extend the stand to the max you can only put a small splash cymbal on it, otherwise you will have stability problems. Each time you hit the cymbal, you fear it will fall down. This is not at all in line with the great quality of other Gibraltar products. If I had to do it again, I would buy a normal Gibraltar stand, not this one which is much too light.
As usual, very satisfied with Thomann service of course.

Simple and effective

Simplicity and effectiveness is good definition for Gibraltar 4709 Lighweight boom stand. Stand is very light and easy to carry, boom arm can be fold up into stands tube. Generally not designed for heavy hitters, can hold 10" tom but it's not very stable then. Perfect for lighter gigs in clubs and pubs.
This stand is good choice if you need simply and light stand for gigs, or to add some crashes/ effect cymbals to your set. Price is very affordable and I didn't have any probems with it since I bought it almost two years.

Built like a tank

Amazing quality product for the price. Although it is made for a cymbal, I will use it as a light stand with manfrotto umbrella adapter.

A satisfactory crash stand with a nice price tag
tritommind 19.08.2015
The stand is somewhat sturdy and folds easily to a at least relatively small space. However, it does make a lot of noise for studio use with heavier cymbals on it (eg. anything bigger/heavier than a 17" crash) and loses its balance a lot more easily. The build quality seems convincing, and it is efficiently adjustable. For gigging as stand for a small crash etc, it is surprisingly lightweight and useable for the price.
