The Real Deal

This is my first "real" Les Paul. I'm not a professional player, I'm a guitar enthusiast , hobbyist you could say. My Les Paul before this was an epiphone 50s (which is a great instrument ) . So Why would I buy such an expensive guitar ? Because I can afford it and wanted the best experience out my favorite type of guitar which is the Gibson Les Paul. Yeah you could say it's "overpriced" but it a personal decision and for me it's worth it.

As soon as I opened the case the beauty of the guitar stunned me, I mean it just looks amazing. The flame is something to behold. Nothing else to be said there

Quality wise everything is top notch as it should be, no dings or cracks, setup is really nice I didn't have to adjust anything and it plays beautifully. VOS finish so it's not as plasticy , some light aging on the hardware. That's pretty much it. Another thing that you will get with a 1959 reissue is binding bleed which I was expecting and it already came with some of it, I actually like it just adds to the whole vintage thing. It's mostly on the neck binding , but overtime can appear elsewhere due to the aniline dye used on the body.

Sound - it sounds really bright , actually as bright as my telecaster. That's not a bad thing I really wanted that "tele on steroids" sound and I sure got it. I can always adjust the tone knob if need be (it can be abit too bright with certain amps with tone on 10) . Otherwise the tone is that proper 1959 Les Paul tone, we all know and love it. Both bridge and neck sound very very good, musical and dynamic due to the un potted pickups . I love it.

It is a joy to play and when I have the chance to sit down with it I can get lost for hours without noticing. I don't even care what I play , it just rings , sustains and sings. Can be a problem when I have things to do but that's a problem that I'm willing to have.

Thanks Thomann .
