Great upgrade/replacement
Duley 09.08.2019
I bought this switch to replace a broken one on my 2010 Epiphone Les Paul Standard. I swapped pretty much all of the parts on that guitar, but that's another story.
So as about the switch. It wasn't a perfect match at first as I had to drill the hole in the guitar a little bit more, just to get the piece fit in there. It is also somewhat longer than the old one was, so fitting it in the cavity was a little bit tricky as well. But after that I got the switch in its place, soldered it and so on, it was all working fine. So, for me personally, that wasn't one big of a problem either. The switch itself, needles to say, definitely does better than the old Epi switch did. Had it for a year or so now, still haven't got any problems with it.
So in conclusion, if someone needs a replacement or simply just an upgrade for their old/broken switch, you don't really need to look further than this. But as I mentioned above, you may have to adapt when installing it. Because as it seems, it doesn't quite fit every type of guitar out of the box.

Hugely disappointed
Votanik 31.10.2018
I bought this to replace my 90's Gibson LP switch, i am doing a rewiring in my guitar and even though my toggle switch had no issues i thought it would be nice to put in there a new one.

Compared to the old one that toggle felt cheap from the first second i hold it, my digital scale confirms that this toggle is 1gram less in weight that my 20-years old switch, both look identical but the new feels fake.

The question is what this less weight means? cheaper metal parts? All the tone of the guitar goes through these metal parts...

The problem though is not only about the weight, is also about the ease of use.

Example: If you set it to the middle position it clicks to the bridge or neck more easily than if it were to the neck or bridge to go to the middle and thus is harder to set it to the middle position, if you have it in the neck most likely it will go to directly the bridge even if you wish the middle. You must pay attention to get it to the middle, the old one had no such stupid issue!

And no, its not broken or something , its just cheap made, the old one is 20 years old and each position is equally sturdy.

I will clean the old one and keep this somewhere as a spare part that i wish will never need to use.

If it was from an other company i would rate this 3 stars but now 1 star from me and if i could i would put -5 stars, not because it can not function but because its Gibson, they own to respect their costumers and not try to make a euro or two from such things, on the long run they will pay back these stupid decisions.

To Gibson: Why dont you keep the quality up and charge us a damn euro or two more to have the switch as it should? You think somehow you can fool us? Think again...

As you costumer i am unhappy with this product and i feel i lost money, now i am also suspicious about your other products, how this fail translates lets say to your potentiometers?

Good quality, but doesn't fit every Gibson LP
DominikZ 08.09.2014
This is a great quality part, but be careful when buying, because it will not fit every Gibson Les Paul guitar. I originally bought this for my Gibson Les Paul Studio 2006 Vintage Mahogany, but turns out that mine needs a short toggle switch, similar to what a lot of Epiphones use.

If you are looking to replace or upgrade your switch on your epiphone les paul or gibson, look no more, heres your solution! Very very good quality as you would expect from a gibson replacement part!
I have recently started redoing the wirings on my guitars and I?m starting to do wirings for close friends and this has worked really good, perfect substitute / replacement for your gibson/epiphone les paul type switch! Not sure if this works for sgs, but its perfect for les pauls! I really recommend this wire whether you are a beginner or a pro guitar modern! It really does the job! RECOMMEND!
