tired of detuned strings
Christian H. 471 09.05.2014
are you as tired of detuned strings like i was?
the most common reason for a detuned guitar string is that the string nut is slightly too tight and the string cannot move free back and forht, so after an, for example one-tone bending the string it cannot get back into the original tuning and as a result of that the tuning become off.
The GraphTech stringnut is self lubrication and lets the string freely move back and forth, which is going to result into a great tuning stability for your guitar
I have upgraded most of my guitars from various plastic or bone saddles to graphtech nuts, works great on hardtail and vintage tremolo style guitars, and my "out of tune" issues i had previously were solved immediately.
The graphtech nut is pre sloted, but a good setup on an instrument makes all the difference, so i suggest you, if you are not sure or not experienced enough how to setup a guitar and replace a nut, that you take your guitar with the new replacement nut and let a qualified guitar technician or luthier do the job for you.
A good setup makes everything, and you can make an cheap guitar with an ace setup even "better" playable than an expensive "custom shop" guitar with a very poor setup

I love these :)

As much as I love giving my nuts a good lube up ; ) these are so much better.

Strings stay in tune so much better, even on fixed bridge guitars.

Fitting is dead easy. Material is great to work with and easy to file/sand of any excess. A local luthier suggested to me to try and get the hight correct without cutting into the slots, as the pre cut slots wear better than if you start taking material out.

I haven't noticed much difference to tone or sustain, mostly because I usually mod pickups and upgrade tone caps, treble bleed, etc at the same time, maybe a little brighter and clearer, and slightly better sustain.
