I bought this at the same time as buying the Gretsch Streamliner G2655T. This case is custom made for that model, and it is indeed a very, very snug fit. However, the first case I received would not close properly. The middle catch on the front side was not aligned properly. You could force it to close but it required a worrying amount of force to do so. I found a few reviews on the Internet describing this exact problem, so it appears mine was not an isolated example.
I contacted Thomann, and their response was excellent! They sent a replacement immediately, and the new case closed without any problem. Big thanks to Thomann :)
The case itself has a luxurious interior which looks and feels very nice, but I would say that the overall construction is just sturdy enough for use going to rehearsals and local gigs - basically if you are carrying it yourself and treating it with care. However, I wouldn't use it in situations where it might be thrown around at all - e.g., as airline baggage, or touring - because I doubt that it would survive the rough handling. For my purposes though, I am very happy with it.
